Cyber police shut down buyaccs. This happened back in Oct 1 and almost every one of you know right?

But what's interesting is it really illegal to sell pre made and verified accounts? If yes, then we have lots of sellers in BHW, right?

Second, how did the cyber police find out? Didn't the owner used anonymity like vpn, anon proxies and other sorts of cover to prevent anyone from knowing? How did the cyber police came to know about this and especially the owner's location?

Probably they sold hacked accounts, and I don't think its fraud if we made our account

What interest me is their setup
What setup is that? 4G proxy or PVA?

They probably used a cheap hosting company that shut them down at first complain...

Legality depends on a country. This may be a part of campaign against manipulation in social media.
So ukraine is more strict and we can say russia is more strict?

OP, have you seen the images? Really...each SIM card connects to a GSM antenna. It's a matter of time to track them down.
What are these white things? https://ibb.co/LYkqnxm

And doesn't each sim card requires ID before approval? How did he get so many and how were he powering those? Wow such mind.

The white things are devices that connect the SIM to the network, like the one you have in the phone but scaled to 100. ID is not required in all countries, and SIM cards are free in most of them. You pay for credit, to call / send, but not to receive. Probably they had a company to acquire them. Powering...I don't think that what he had there exceeds 500W. And from what I've read, the persons that bought accounts from them, did nasty things.

They will move there operation to a new domain. They were all Russian and I'm sure the network of people was very large and police didn't catch them all

Who said buyaccs has been closed by cyber police.
It's still loading fine at my end.
And I don't think even if the buyer did nasty things bought account from this site, it is the ip address what he used to do nasty things will get caught.
And I hardly think buyaccs has been using mobile networks for creating accounts but it could be possible.it can use high quality proxies and other residential ips

@op could you share the news or link where have you got this?
I mean to say an English news link

its basically "you get what you pay for"

Is it illegal to create and sell accounts??
I mean, I know it is against Fb or Ig rules but I never thought you could end up to jail for doing it!

Cyber police have discontinued large-scale service to register various accounts in messengers, social networks and mail services
01 October 2019 19:06

The resource was used to create bot farms, send spam messages and log emails from which anonymous mine reports were sent. Searches have been carried out in six regions of Ukraine. The procedural measures were carried out within the framework of the previously initiated criminal proceedings for exposing persons who send false reports about the demining of various objects in Ukraine.

Cyber police officers, together with investigators of the Main Investigative Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, exposed a large-scale service for mass distribution of electronic messages.

It is established that all works of the service are conducted solely at the request of interested clients. With this resource, it was possible to buy activated accounts in large numbers to various mail resources, social networks, payment systems and more. At the same time, verified accounts were sold and the value was much higher.

Such services were commonly used for anonymous mass mailing of reports of alleged car gain (money), payment of non-existent debt, etc. Moreover, the service has enabled its customers to send spam mailings and register accounts on various resources that require a phone number with further verification (social networks, e-mail, etc.).

The attackers used VPN and TOR services to protect their networks and anonymize them.

Police conducted searches in six cities of Ukraine: Kiev, Odessa, Lviv, Mykolayiv, Rivne and Kherson. These cities housed homes, garages, apartments, and rented offices that were used by the attackers for illegal activity. As a result of the searches, the equipment used to conduct such activity was seized. The technique is sent for examination.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing within the framework of the previously initiated criminal proceedings under Art. 1889 (Extortion), Art. 258 (Terrorist act), Art. Measures are being taken to prosecute those involved in the organization of such activities.

How do you figure? The .com domain is still operational. That's not a mirror or autotranslation, it's the original domain. It was either never ceased or they got it back.

They made a post under News on Oct 2: "Buyaccs.com has ZERO tolerance policy for SPAM, sending out fake messages and other illegal stuff. Buyers are solely responsible for account usage" and another one on Nov 26. So something must have happened, but apparently they weren't affected too seriously and everything looks just fine now.

If i'm not mistaken, buyaccs is mostly a reseller, so maybe they weren't the primary target and they managed to escape.

Translate the url - what OP posted in his thread starter post - with Google Translate (Ukranian to English): https://translate.google.com/transl...erax-soczmerezhax-ta-poshtovyx-servisax-8596/. There's a screenshot of the buyaccs homepage in the article, that can be seen without translation too. :)

I don't think they were trying to impersonate or steal other people's identity.
They were just creating some fake identity ;):smirk:
You don't have to impersonate or steal other people's identities in order for it to be identity fraud. I've seen people here in Denmark getting punished for creating false identities as well. They get judged by another law, but it's still illegal just slightly less time behind bars since you don't directly hurt any individuals.
