So strange. I've been studying the threads about Pinterest for a while. When concerning Pinterest, some said it's a gold mine, some said it's totally useless. Why is that?
The reason why I chose Pinterest is that it allows to add source links to pictures, so it can directly drive traffic to the website. I chose the method I am using now because I ever read a thread here before. That person said that he used to get a lot of traffic in a similar simple way, but he didn't disclose more details. If 30000 followers 0 click, it seems that I need to reevaluate this platform.
That's the thing isn't it. In theory it looks great and it should work, you have a nice picture and a link to your website, but in reality people do not click the links. Probably because they just wanna look at pictures and are not really looking to buy anything.
About 10 years ago I started a pinterest account and added a lot of wisdom quotes because I'm a big fan of wisdom. I also followed a lot of people and in that 10 year period I eventually reached 30,000 followers.
Even back in the day when Pinterest was still hot, some of my pins would be repinned 1000 - 2000 times and how much traffic did this give me? Maybe 8 visitors to my websites per day.
There is a Pinterest expert here on BHW and even he agrees that pinterest is not effective anymore. Maybe some people had luck because they found the right niche, but I can assure you that it's not worth the effort.
If I were you I would just do what you love, share your content and share it on a platform that you gives you complete control like your own forum for example.
Then drive traffic to that platform with either fb ads or google adwords. At least then you know that you can get a decent amount of traffic.
If I share a nice picture on my FB page and tell people that they can find similar pictures if they click the link then you receive plenty of traffic.
