My first journey on Pinterest, no traffic by now

So strange. I've been studying the threads about Pinterest for a while. When concerning Pinterest, some said it's a gold mine, some said it's totally useless. Why is that?
The reason why I chose Pinterest is that it allows to add source links to pictures, so it can directly drive traffic to the website. I chose the method I am using now because I ever read a thread here before. That person said that he used to get a lot of traffic in a similar simple way, but he didn't disclose more details. If 30000 followers 0 click, it seems that I need to reevaluate this platform.

That's the thing isn't it. In theory it looks great and it should work, you have a nice picture and a link to your website, but in reality people do not click the links. Probably because they just wanna look at pictures and are not really looking to buy anything.

About 10 years ago I started a pinterest account and added a lot of wisdom quotes because I'm a big fan of wisdom. I also followed a lot of people and in that 10 year period I eventually reached 30,000 followers.

Even back in the day when Pinterest was still hot, some of my pins would be repinned 1000 - 2000 times and how much traffic did this give me? Maybe 8 visitors to my websites per day.

There is a Pinterest expert here on BHW and even he agrees that pinterest is not effective anymore. Maybe some people had luck because they found the right niche, but I can assure you that it's not worth the effort.

If I were you I would just do what you love, share your content and share it on a platform that you gives you complete control like your own forum for example.

Then drive traffic to that platform with either fb ads or google adwords. At least then you know that you can get a decent amount of traffic.

If I share a nice picture on my FB page and tell people that they can find similar pictures if they click the link then you receive plenty of traffic.

This method is still in the testing stage, and I haven't got any traffic yet. I'm trying to find out why and adjust the strategy.
I think Pinterest suit for some nich such as clothes, makeup stuff, phone accessories, home decor, foods.
As I know one website get 98% traffic from Pinterest and earn tons of money. His followers only 23K. he put paid advertising on Pinterest too.

your accounts are shadow banned... you should have warmed up your accounts first before heavy actions.

100 uploads per account everyday is too much.
don't point each pin to your website. 1/10 is decent.. the lower the better.
you have to do other actions like follow, unfollow, repin... don't just upload. you need to gather followers to spread your pins/links.
don't be aggressive in your account actions.
set the bot to act like a human being..

shadow ban may take months, so it's better to start over and take it slow.

there are guides about pinterest marketing here in bhw. look it up! :)

your accounts are shadow banned... // this is depends on how you opened your accounts from the beginning. if your account is shadowbanned after the creation its not easy to shadowban it .

100 uploads per account everyday is too much. /// This is so wrong. you can pin even 2-3k per day.... or more. i have friends who pins 10-20k per day from just one pinterest account.

don't point each pin to your website. 1/10 is decent.. the lower the better. ///// you dont have to do that. you can post each link with a link nothing wrong with that. i have posted more than 200 pins with links nothing happened. not shadowbanned.

you have to do other actions like follow, unfollow, repin... don't just upload. you need to gather followers to spread your pins/links. ... /// we don' t do that either.

Try the strategy i suggested, i use 1 main account for years with bots repinning - no issue

Could you please share you bots repining schema?
Is it mother-child? Or just one tier of repins?
Also what is average amount of repins per pin do you make to have a result? Less than 10, tens or may be hundreds?

Thats the kind of people pinterest want on their platform people who will buy ads. Not long ago I’d say a year ago it was so much easier to make money just by spamming but they quickly got smarter.

Your account maybe an aged account, you can do anything you want. For a new account maybe not suitable too.

You are right definitely. I have tested that the ads is not inexpensive. I'm going to use it, but my account always been suspended.
Do you have some suggestions?

I made a pinterest for my ecommerce store and bought a cheap pinterest follower service to get more followers and likes on boards
a few months later i got a 1-2 random sales from pinterest

that made me want to inest in ads = that got me nothing at all

i have mixed feelings about pinterest, definitely interested in watching you dominate pinterest

good luck bro, pinterest definitely has potential

One of my brands gets over a million+ impressions per month on Pinterest not even the 1% of sales on my store comes from those million + impressions. Pinterest really sucks for traffic tho, they been working on their ads platform for over 4 years & still Pinterest ads is by far the least converting ads (I spent hundreds of thousands a months across other platforms)

The only thing I can recommend is to use Pinterest as a platform for social prof, make a board only with pictures of your customers & add Pinterest tags to those pics. Good luck mate :)

Focus on your keywords, think Pinterest like a search engine instead of social network. I used to get nice traffic from Pinterest but after its big update on November, look like it is hard to earn traffic from Pinterest now. You better have another plan for your traffic sources, youtube is a nice idea.

Concerning big update in November, I've noticed that new pins do not gain any traffic on almost all of my accounts for now, i'd say on all accounts. Impressions on new pins are almost zero. All traffic come from old pins and repins. That is very odd .... Pinterest was famous for giving free traffic for new pins before.
I wonder has any body else noticed that?

The same here. New upload pins are got 0 impress although I've make keywords research and used only keywords that have good potential. This strategy was working fine before the big update on November so I think we should have another replace plan for Pinterest.

I thought that November update is niche related. And has no influence in some niches.
I'm working in humor. What's your niche if not a secret.

No sorry everytime I've tried to buy an ad on Pinterest they always complain about the quality of my pin so I finally just gave up.

Do you think it's about bot? I use bot, a famous one. Do you?

I have been trying Organic Pinterest + Ecommerce for over an year now.

I have tested all methods. Got the traffic. It's not worth much unless you are very smart with tools(bots - and of course I use bots - and i used all black-grey-white methods) my pinterest network at this stage is growing exponentially and generating traffic and working for me in the passive mode.

But there is more to it. There are engines that act as support for eCommerce ecosystem - email, messenger, sms etc etc oh and layered remaketing wherever you can (all falls in how smart you are for your business and niche).

So, In summary, here I can post all methods for you with tools and everything that I have tested - but trust me , you would need more than just prospecting traffic out of any source.

You need conversion mechanism for Ecom Ecosystem to work in your favour or you would just be generating traffic but not revenue.

I hope I made sense for you.
and good luck.

I'm impressed by your data and suggestions.

Based on all above suggestions, I think I have found the future direction to adjust my brand promotion strategy. Thank you all for helping me. Good luck to everyone.

Just one tier of repins, no mother child, no footprints between the account. Thousands.
