KGR With a Twist (Case Study Round Two)

Guaranteed. Golf swing dick slap service $97.77. Can I get a review copy?

I was being serious, i'm not familiar with KGR, if I put a new site up with no backlinks I will get traffic that will convert to sales in what timeframe

You quoted a post with the keyword 'golf swing dick slap' when you asked me so my immediate reaction was far from taking it seriously. ;)

That's a loaded question right there. First up how long will it take you to convert? I've no idea. It depends on a whole lot of things from the intent of the search and how familiar you are with converting cold traffic. For some like the product based Amazon ones it really could be fairly quick if they're looking to buy and you put a list in front of them. Others might take some practice.

As an example - the keywords I'm using for this journal have no buyer intent. They're focused on a niche but the lead I had yesterday netted me about $10 after they went through a funnel to convince them to buy.

For the speed of ranking - it's even tougher to say.

The original journal I ran with KGR was with pretty blank domains and they ranked quickly. I obviously can't promise immediate day #1 rankings but I can honestly say this is the fastest version of SEO I've ever seen. Google clearly treats low volume keywords differently and I like the combination of focused keywords with faster ranks.

Of the top of my head, I don't remember how quickly the first ones ranked. I'm pretty sure a bunch of them indexed around page 2/3 way quicker than I'd expected. Some then moved up to #1 where they still sit today.

Some of the keywords for this journal ranked on the first page in under 2 days and have brought traffic to my lander already. It's pretty insane for SEO. Keep in mind this journal is on parasite pages but I'm also doing pretty short-form content and a lot of it isn't unique. If I threw some links at it and wrote more content it'd probably rank better - but I'm going for scalable here.

This journey thread has got me into KGR big time, I bought 6 KGR terms that i'm going to use for a CPA offer, i'm going to create a new site, host it on the cloud, index it and see how it goes. Quality thread.

An important thing to note if you're doing this. A lot of typo keywords fit into the KGR metrics but they won't rank. I've seen KGR sites try and target them and checked to be sure but obviously RankBrain can spot these ones a mile away. Save yourself the time and avoid them.

Another KGR freebie: 'best way to please a man' 250 searches 22 allintitle results. Have fun. Actually, if I remember right there is a Clickbank affiliate product for that niche so... yeah.

'can you hang yourself with a belt' 100 searches 2 allintitle. Fuck.

When you start looking at the numbers for this it's pretty insane. Over 3,000 searches to find less than a dozen KGR keywords which were semi-decent and that's after the initial filtering to cut down on the searches. Others can be 600~ searches to find a few dozen amazing looking keywords.

The kind of things people search for is also a bit mad.

Anyway. Updates on this specific test.

I did a little digging into my original KGR test from last year. Unsurprisingly the articles with 100% unique content are ranking better. Shocker. I know. The ones with 90% duplicate content are still ranking though. Not as well but that could still be a decent ROI if it was done on scale. Still playing with the idea.

Jeffery Epstein didn't kill himself.

But yeah, proving my point outsourcing is pointless.

Edit: Maybe you can get ROI but eventually someone will do it better so IMO pointless

Actually this is the opposite case. When I'm putting the content together myself I was curating a lot of it together. The unique parts actually came from outsourcing. ;)

I do get what you're saying though. Personally I'm tempted to pull some capital out of different projects and put more into this again. A half decent writer could be a good ROI with this and I don't have the time to produce the content myself.

Fuck me. We're in #0 with a huge snippet for one of these keywords. There's so little unique content on there as well. I've decided to scale this up a bit into a second niche. I'm putting together some keywords for a niche and I'm going to outsource the whole lot and see how it compares to mine.

I just happened to notice because I saw a spike in traffic coming in from this today. It's still just in the double digits but considering the tiny amount of work I actually put into this and how quickly it's bringing in traffic for SEO it's actually rekindling my passion for organic rankings.

Started to spot a lot of Amazon affiliates making use of KGR keywords. Also a definite subset of automated content running Adsense. Personally I don't like the idea of running banner ads for someone else when you know what your viewer is interested in. Not to mention the high chances they're going to get themselves banned.

But hey. Maybe they're making bank.

One of my favorite case studies / journeys. People are eventually going to figure out that KGR works and start building more sites based on it.

I'm actually really interested in starting a niche site with a big stack of KGR keywords and growing it into the more competitive ones from there. I'm curious if Google trusts it enough to rank these low competition ones and they get good user metrics, for example, might it speed up the ranking for the bigger keywords.

How many words do you use per page?

It depends.

In general, I say look at what the SERPS already have. In this case that's not always a viable choice. I'm doing about 500-1000 but a lot of that isn't unique content in my case because I'm not spending the time to write content out properly. I've seen Amazon affiliates break 2k words for some of these keywords and automated sites just have a 'page under construction' which still ranks because the phrase is in the title.

I have never done SEO before, if I have say 10 KGR keywords (same niche) and I write a 2000 word article and I put the exact same article on those posts but with different headers and a different 50-100 word intro will that work or does that get penalised, is it better to have a unique HW 400 word article per post or better to have lots of content even if 80-90% is exactly the same

99% of SEOs will tell you to use unique articles for all of them. I would generally tell you to do the same thing if it’s a white hat project you actually care about. I use a lot of duplicate content in this case because I’m lazy and using a parasite.

If they’re related enough you can also group them together into a smaller number of posts.

Fucking hell. The more I look at these the more I see Amazon affiliates ranking with almost no content. I don't do Amazon review sites because I'm looking for diversity at the moment but I'm really questioning that this.

I do see people trying to rank KGR keywords with obvious typos, navigational searches or places where RankBrain is clearly taking over. It's not an exact science but the more I look at the more of a pattern you do start to see. I'm adding some extra filtering into my own searches and finished setting up the tech side of things to find a lot more KGR terms even with the extra filtering.

I've got about a dozen new keywords I'm going to outsource some content for. Still, the outsourced content from the first set is the one which doesn't rank so I'm debating how little I want to deal with finding a new writer - compared to how little I want to write the content myself.

What exactly is the moat? If someone is ranking for no content, someone else can do 2000 words, whats the long term viability of KGR?

I like your insight. Please see if you can put your insights into an organized way. It would help many of us.

Thanks,

Please don't I like off the cuff comments since they are more likely to be accurate and not commercially driven.

Agree with you about the commercial aspect. However, off the cuff comments are just that. Maybe accurate and good to read but not actionable.

For example, those sites ranking with KGR with almost no content, of course, they rank because nobody is writing about that KGR KW. However, we don't know if that ranking is turning into clicks, purchases and actual earned cash. I have a KGR KW with CPS (clicks per search around 30% per AHREFS). So if I write a 2000 word article on a KGR with 100 SV, and I spent a considerable amount of time and money (on a side note, for some of the KGR KW, it is impossible to write 2000 words), per AHREFs, only about 30 clicks. Now, to calculate how many of those clicks will go to your site and then turn into an amazon purchase is questionable.

Just food for thought.

Well if you get 20% CTR for ranking 1st and then say 20% of those people click your CPA link and then 1% of those people actually buy the product i'm pretty sure this will work for every KGW in that niche. That's what I am expecting

I would expect the same. And on a typical KGR with 100SV for which you may rank in 1st position, that means 1 sale every 2.5 months. That is if my maths is correct, but I am weak in maths.
