99% organic traffic loss, please help

Over the last 10 months I have lost 99% of my organic search traffic from Google. Up until March of this year I was getting about 3000 organic search visitors a day from Google. As of now, I’m getting about 30 visitors a day from Google.

When the June Core Update rolled out was when I lost a huge chunk of traffic, I lost over 80% of my organic traffic overnight. And since then it’s continued to fall to a 99% traffic loss. A year ago I was getting 150,000 unique visitors a month, and now, almost nothing.

There are no manual penalties, no security issues. No website errors in Search Console.

My website is a skin care website. It is 4 years old. The content is evergreen. It has over 100 blog posts I’ve written myself, and each blog post has a YouTube video I’ve done myself, plus original photos. I’ve been blogging for over a decade and have a social media following.

Over the past 6 months I’ve hired SEO experts and web developers to help me solve the issue. But we’ve had absolutely no recovery and my organic search traffic continues to decline.

Over the last 6 months we’ve:

• Upgraded to PHP7
• Installed a new wordpress theme
• Moved to a better server
• De-indexed anything that could be considered thin content (tag pages)
• Nofollow all affiliate links
• Added contact information in the footer
• Added affiliate disclaimer on all blog posts
• Added author bio to all blog posts
• Removed links to my 2 other blogs
• Removed pop-ups (Leadpages newsletter sign-ups)
• For one month, we removed all affiliate links on the website to see if that could help, it didn’t.
• Removed WhoIs privacy on the domain

Most recently we’ve:

• Changed all titles that could be click bait
• Removed excessive inline css and js in html
• There were a few affiliate links that didn’t have nofollow, we fixed it.

There are no ads on my website except on my YouTube videos.

At this point, I don’t know what else to do?

It’s not like I lost 20% or even 50% of my organic search traffic, I’ve lost 99% of my traffic from a thriving website.

To loose that type of traffic, something must be terribly wrong, and we can’t find it.

when did you change the title?
is the traffic start low after update the traffic?
did you monitor your backlinks ?

Yep. Recipe for disaster: poor on page SEO and spammy headings. Ppl follow yoast like words written in stone from moses.

Cmom! Its like when bloggers crash after losing pages that used to rank #1 and cashed for years.

Try this: look for a good article ranking high but somewhat old. 2014, 2015. Write yourself a brand new article about the subject. 600-900 words. Good headings distribution and flowing... Not spammy. Write like a speech for an live audience. Try to use recent events (trendings ) to solidify your freshness.

Bingo! You beat the opponent in a heartbeat.

Some blogs/sites owners dont see how much they hang on a couple of articles only and back links.

It's not her case, but tankings like that tend to be a case of outranking. Just my 2 cents but Ive seen those a lot.

I don't think the H tags from some of the pots I clicked look that much of a big deal. Unless I'm looking a the wrong thing id not worry about them.

To me I think you got hit with that medical and health update last month or month before.. Most of your topics are about fixing or curing something with no real proven medical reason behind it. I think you need to switch the focus to herbal or holistic as mentioned in the 2nd or 3rd post here. When I google the authors name I can see you suffered from bad skin rather than being a bad skin doctor and that's the issue.

Most of your posts are try this to cure XYZ or skin care this XYZ

The biggest offender if you ask me are posts like this:

"5 products that make this worse" with no external links to medical evidence or studies to back up your post BUT you promote a course in that post. I think google is seeing you as a snake oil salesman and is pushing you down the rankings as people want real medical advice / help.

And me reading your posts I see most of it as a snake oil salesman also :/

You are 110% right. Listings are great for rankings but give support with the right ammount of alt-tags and external linkings.

Since we don't have actual analytics data so following observation is based on 3rd party tools..

1. Over SEO
2. Your site traffic drop seems to collide with June Core Update (as you have mentioned too). It was a core update so there isnt anything specific to fix and like every other update Health Sites always gets a hit
3. It seems that majority of your traffic comes from 4 or 5 pages including Tea Tree Oil For Acne, Drunk Elephant, Tiny Bumps On Your Forehead etc. I have seen it with one of my health site that a single page drop can cause huge loss of traffic


Actions:
1. Buy a new domain > Copy entire site on it > redirect old domain to new domain
2. Test this theory by copying the acne oil and post it to a new page/post with different url structure > and then redirect old acne oil post to new url.
3. De-optimize your site. As pointed put by several members, reduce number of H2 and use H3 or H4, if you must.


Now you said "since last 10 month" however the drop happened in June 2019 so its only 6 months...or am i reading something wrong
