Over the last 10 months I have lost 99% of my organic search traffic from Google. Up until March of this year I was getting about 3000 organic search visitors a day from Google. As of now, I’m getting about 30 visitors a day from Google.

When the June Core Update rolled out was when I lost a huge chunk of traffic, I lost over 80% of my organic traffic overnight. And since then it’s continued to fall to a 99% traffic loss. A year ago I was getting 150,000 unique visitors a month, and now, almost nothing.

There are no manual penalties, no security issues. No website errors in Search Console.

My website is a skin care website. It is 4 years old. The content is evergreen. It has over 100 blog posts I’ve written myself, and each blog post has a YouTube video I’ve done myself, plus original photos. I’ve been blogging for over a decade and have a social media following.

Over the past 6 months I’ve hired SEO experts and web developers to help me solve the issue. But we’ve had absolutely no recovery and my organic search traffic continues to decline.

Over the last 6 months we’ve:
  • Upgraded to PHP7
  • Installed a new wordpress theme
  • Moved to a better server
  • De-indexed anything that could be considered thin content (tag pages)
  • Nofollow all affiliate links
  • Added contact information in the footer
  • Added affiliate disclaimer on all blog posts
  • Added author bio to all blog posts
  • Removed links to my 2 other blogs
  • Removed pop-ups (Leadpages newsletter sign-ups)
  • For one month, we removed all affiliate links on the website to see if that could help, it didn’t.
  • Removed WhoIs privacy on the domain
Most recently we’ve:
  • Changed all titles that could be click bait
  • Removed excessive inline css and js in html
  • There were a few affiliate links that didn’t have nofollow, we fixed it.
There are no ads on my website except on my YouTube videos.

At this point, I don’t know what else to do?

It’s not like I lost 20% or even 50% of my organic search traffic, I’ve lost 99% of my traffic from a thriving website.

To loose that type of traffic, something must be terribly wrong, and we can’t find it.

If you have one moment, please, can you take a look at my website. Maybe you can see something we can’t?

Your website was hit with google YMYL (your money your life) update targeting financial and health websites. The update has nothing to do with the things you listed above, you did to improve your ranking, it's just google doesn't see it as authoritative enough to give you good SERP position. I can't help you as I'm not in the health niche but if you google 'google ymyl update' you should get a pretty good idea of what needs to be changed to improve your website's ranking.

Just to add to my comment, I took a quick look at your website and see a lot of 'Holistic' approach, don't know what keywords you were ranking before but another way out of is to refocus and target different keywords that are more in line with holistic and Chinese medicine.

Have you analyzed the competition? Very similar websites with the similar approaches and how they took the algorithm update? How much do you use 'Holistic' approach in your content?

What were the keywords you were ranking for? Did they disappear completely or moved onto 2nd or 3rd pages?

If its the URL in your bio then your website seems very slow. 6.5 seconds with GTMetrix on blog posts. But your worst problem: Your h2/h3 headings are really bad, you use headings for your "related posts" so you got like 50 h2/h3/h4 headings on each page.

These are really huge problems, especially the headings problem. Feel free to PM me and I will help you more.

are you sure you just didnt have few (1-4) well ranking articles that were bringing all traffic and lost their position for some reason? maybe your website as a whole wasnt authority yet, just few lucky articles

Virtually everything listed here to remedy the situation is onpage, have you looked at off page, link building?

She/he is doing fine.

Op, wanted free traffic from BHW.

If you checked in any SEO tool like Ahrefs, you would have seen that it´s a huge drop instead of unnecessary comments

Thats probably because the Onpage is really bad and you usually begin with the onpage before doing offpage.

It's for sure an algorithm penalty. I had this kind of issue several time. You should probably consider to do a 301 redirect to another domain.
If you need help or another question, you can MP me. (I can speak English or French)

PS: Remove your site from BHW

Yeah, the Onpage is totally off, i see some repetitive headings just for reaching the recommended keyword density, it looks spammy as hell.
I just looked at your website profile, you have a huge backlink drop, so this might be the reason of your traffic drop, you also have lots of spammy anchors, try to fix the onpage optimization and also buy some high quality backlinks packages.

my god, people. What are you even talking about?

H2 is the reason she lost 99% of the traffic? social signals? speed? Sure, they matter, but would never be the reason for losing most of the traffic in 2 days and would never recover that traffic to focus just on that.

also buy some high quality backlinks packages.
and don't do this.

almost all the 'high quality' backlink packages are a pile of shit. ('almost' is also very polite)

Buy backlinks and f*ck your biz! Spammy H2 seems to be 50% of your problem but a full revamp of your on page is totally needed.

I wouldnt change the domain. Faced this issue in the past and after a couple of weeks things got back on track by merging and updating the posts.

Worked for me! Perhaps you should try! Good luck;)

If he used the headings in a spammy way, he can get a penalty and lose all traffic.
He should look at the google search console for manual action.

Do you have an example of what a spammy H2 looks like?

Please, someone should check mine and tell me why I lost over 80% of my traffic and still going down.
