Site developer redirected all my traffic?

We were averaging serious numbers, whatever he's already sent to his own site will stay there because due to lack of people in the niche so he's already took a win there. Can't really take kids away from earning free stuff if you get me. You have given me an idea to discredit everything he's done USING my sponsors so hopefully people will recognise what he's done, but then again, kids, they don't really care if they're going to a different site for the same free stuff. His site won't die and he'll be earning from AdGate, OGads, Offertoro and AdSense so if anything he's got a win win win win on his hands

Yeah there's nothing I can really do about him stealing the traffic just get everyone that said to go to my site to say don't go to his site and go to our new one, after I figure out PHP and jQuery and sharpen my jS by the looks of it

Also, please don't deflect what's BTB saying. He is in the game so long, and he knows what he is saying. Whatever your niche is, it won't last forever. Anything including kids monetization shouldn't be a career choice.

There are so many things that can and will go wrong when you are siding with the darker shade of gray hat. Even if nothing goes wrong, you are risking mental health issues, like realization that digital wall between you and your customers doesn't dehumanize the customers forever.

If you already made some stacks, it's a perfect chance to try something new. Don't end up being one trick pony, it's a sure way to fail at being full time digital professional.

As for everything to do with being a one trick pony, please read the original post. This site is our main site, we used any profits not needed to fund other projects; this being why recovering the site was important.

I'm not deflecting what he's saying, I'm trying to figure out what he's judging me on. I'm on neither side of the hat because I make every side money. My job is to make sure people on both sides of the digital wall or whatever color hat are earning what they earn. Getting fairly sick of this now

Cutting would imply he had no choice in the matter, I'm the one that had no choice in the matter. I send all payments but there's no payments without a site, he took the site. If you read this thread you'll see what I'm saying, seems you might have skipped a line or two. Not being rude but in the same post that says I tried to buy out his 15% I also mention everything else I tried to do to get his 15% lower. Wasn't CRUSHING the profits, just was a huge amount to be paying out to someone that sits and watches me make him rich.

From my perspective, "buying me out" would cost 15-18x monthly(my share), so $28,000-$33,750(ball park for the payout you offered?) I'm going to guess just maybe not.

You should have taken precautions. Before bringing up that you wanna reduce his 15%, you should have at least downloaded the website/template.

But it youre making this big money just pay someone to create the site again. Buy hosting and a domain name for a few bucks, and youre good to go.

He went into a deal with someone, he offered 15%, that's the deal. He didn't say, "15% unless we make more", he didn't pay a flat fee, he offered 15%. More than likely because he didn't want to pay anything if it tanked: no risk, all reward? Great plan.

And cutting out a business partner, yeah... So if you went into business with someone, you fronted all startup, you get 15%, but suddenly it becomes successful, so they cut you out. You're cool like that? That is shitty business practices plain and simple.

the people in bhw are just shitting on his business practice in which in the first place they agreed that it will be 15% of total profit. There was no ceiling that they had to abandon their agreement so whatever profit is made it's going to be 15%.


If I was OP he should have just hired a developer rather than looking for a partner.

I'm happy to clarify this irony for you. I got to know quite a few people around here, and let's define what blackhat in forum domain means.

Blackhat refers to SEO practice - gaming ranking of your site in order to get bigger traffic. This has nothing to do with what happens from the moment visitor is already there. Scamming your visitors is not what majority of people here do. People who actually make stable money for several years here are striving towards business models that make their customers happy. It is misconception that content lockers MUST SCAM people who complete them. Every network will tell you not to do it, barely tolerates it, and sometimes prohibit it.

Now let's talk about "shady shit" and concept of horrible person. It's up to you to define your moral compass. Truth is, if you want to cooperate with fellow BHW members, it will help limiting "shady shit" only towards big corporations. If you appear as someone who is ready to backstab small businesses or ordinary people, chance of actually getting help when you need it drops significantly.

All earnings go through me, if I didn't want him to have his 15% I could've snatched it right up. Instead he redirected all traffic to his site because I asked him if I could lower his rate because a lot more people need money than the need for him to take such a high %, Above is AdGate and AdSense alone for previous months before things got removed.

I didn't try screwing him I asked him to lower his percentage and he redirected all of MY traffic, fair enough he made a site but damn he shouldn't have been on 5 figures a month for making a decent enough site. The 5 figures could've gone to anything to build our name up more, as we had planned.

I offered to lower his percentage & give him a flat fee right there, I offered to buy it out, I offered to work out something so he took the whole 100%. And I'm totally wrong

Why didnt you cut your percentage? And who's judging that he actually doesn't deserve this revenue?

Maybe with another developer you would have gotten half the profit.

Anyway, the point is that a partnership is a contract. You can not just wake up one day and say i am cutting his %. This is an authoritarian technique not used in JVs. You could offer him a flat price to buy his percentage or something like a stock.
