I have a site that suffers from lack of traffic - floundering at #6 or thereabouts so I started some Facebook Ads on the suggestion of forum members (thanks) .... amazing website click through rate but few orders which then makes the conversion rate drop dramatically. (traffic up but sales not up pro-rata)

So I am solving one problem (to a degree) but have I created another one? (robbing peter to pay paul?)

Will the extra traffic (paid) help the site rank better even if conversions are down? which would influence Google more?

cheers,

Even if your Google Analytics is integrated with your sales, I highly doubt that it's a factor that Google is using for ranking.
But for the Facebook Ads, you should rather just focus on getting better traffic. Depending on your niche however, there could be plenty of other platforms that would provide better traffic.

Many thanks for your input .... niche is jewellery
