Scrapebox has been a lifesaver for me in more ways than one can imagine. I am now considering getting the domain finder addon for $47.

What can anyone tell me about the reliability of this addon? Are there more efficient alternatives?

You can use SB without that addon to find expired domains....but f you are lazy u can buy the addon....it does a good job in finding expired domains.

Is there a tutorial around on how to use the scrapebox without the addon to find expired domain names?

I have one for the plugin its self, but not for without. yes you can do it without, although there are some metrics available in the plugin that are not in other elements of scrapebox. However for me its about time. The plugin is push button simple, the method for doing it without the plugin is lots of steps and you as the person are the hold up between each step, so it takes more work, more time and takes longer to get the end result. So the domain you are after may well be registered by the time you get around to registering it. My 2 cents anyway.

Ill always upgrade to save time.

I'm sold. I agree with you on the time factor. I am a strong proponent for efficiency. There are so many tasks to perform in the SEO process that scaling without the right tools becomes a real pain.

You said it! Thats completely right. There is so much, scaling without tools just takes time, and if you have loads of time and not much money then thats your only choice, but if you can invest a little money you can leverage your time to grow that much more.

I stopped using this addon when all the metrics stopped working. Was there ever any updates or fixes to it?

What doesn't work?

All the metrics. Only Wayback Machine and Alexa stats work. We discussed this before, getting the APIs for all the non-working metrics is apparently impossible now with their policy changes.

Give a try domain detailer, you can setup the api to addon and check stats from moz and majestic as well

Can Expired domain finder plugin work without proxies?

The plugin is already priced at bargain basement pricing, so there are no discounts if you buy only 1 plugin. However there are plugin bundles, where if you buy multiple plugins you get an extra discount, more info on the site here

Try downloading the latest version here
http://www.scrapebox.com/payment-received

Scrapebox made some changes to their servers and so if a version is too old it may be trying to connect to the wrong server, so just downloading the latest version sorts it.

Yes, I do not ever use proxies for it. Just set connections to 2 or 3 and your good generally

If you have lots of domains you can run mutliple instances of it to speed things up as well.

I have full plugin for 47$, its worth if you need a lot of good domains for PBNs.
