when to make free backlinks?

i have a few new sites and thought a few of the advertised free back links might be helpful ...but when should i set them up? i mean if a site is one day old and suddenly has 200 back links it l l look strange right? whats the thinking on this ? add 1 per week and how do i make it look like im not the one creating my own back links? the more you need to know the more you discover there is to know ....

I would probably wait a week or two before doing much to the sites especially if they are built on brand new domains. Focus on content and getting through the Google Dance. Make sure your sites are indexed properly and at least stable. Then I would sprinkle a few relevant links, making them as natural as possible. Not sure if there's a rule for how fast you can add direct links or how many you can add at a time, but I tend to be more cautious with my sites. My thinking is that if no one is finding my site yet because it's new and probably still in the Google Dance phase, I couldn't possibly have gotten 200 natural direct links to that site overnight. Also make sure most of your inital links are relevant to your niche and from non-spammy sites. Also trial and error. If you do the wrong thing, Google will let you know soon enough.

Yea so should I use a vpn when creating these links ? Maybe 1 or two after a month ? My kw has little competition in terms of back links so I don’t need to create more than 10 . Should the back link point to the site or a specific page

It really depends on the backlink, competition, goals, and metrics of your site. Probably no best answer here. I point most of my highest-quality (first-tier) backlinks to specific pages especially when they are relevant to that page. I also have links pointing to my home page and other sections of my site - all depends on what my goal is. The most important thing is that you have high-quality relevant backlinks coming to your site in the first place regardless of where they point to. VPN is generally great for reducing your footprint as much as possible especially in SEO. Google likes to sniff around so you want to do things right You'll probably find more targeted information on the SEO section of BHW!

My the way I meant "Google sandbox" not "Google dance" earlier.. too early and I'm yet to have my coffee but I'm sure you know what I mean.

I start out with user generated backlinks to the homepage with generic, branded or naked url as the anchor. These are links like profile , comment and forum links. You can seld a few relevant comment and forum links to your inner pages but keep the profile pages point your home page. Build follow and nofollow links to keep it natural. After a month I start building contextual links from PBN's, guest posts, and web 2.0's and very few user generated backlinks moving forward.

The key thing is to think natural velocity. Start SLOW, I build no links my first week, only a hand full the second week (<10), then increase it by max 25% per week. As the links increase so should the content on your website.

One thing many people do is stop building backlinks. If your building a hundred links a week and the next week go to zero and stay there it screams manipulation. If you are ending your link campaign taper it off over a few week.
