hey mad hatters.

I have a blog with a branded name.

There is no home page, just latest posts.

Is it recommended to build naked url and brand name anchor back links to home page, and PBN LINKS with keyword rich anchors to the individual articles I am tryin to rank?

Don’t build pbns links, simply target your inner page with niche edits, guest posts and social signals, use long tail keywords, exact match, partial match, naked URLs, and other keywords like click here, read more etc

Thank you. I’m not familiar with niche edits

Thanks for your input Greg. That makes perfect sense

Today, knowing average stats in any industry is essential with link building.
Google use it in many algorithms, where high difference is first signal to run additional algorithms against spamming search engine.

The true is, that with good link building (even using PBN) you even don't need to hide your resources from Majestic,Ahrefs etc,
because anybody is not able to detect it, including Google.

Cheers, Greg.

Just please remember, that for each site having natural links - home page is the place, for which coming much more links.
Many beginners in SEO fail in this area, giving Google clear signal, that site have unnatural links.

Cheers. Greg.
I am sorry. I am not able to understand. Do you mean people get caught coz of placing links on home page on everysite?did you mean we need to diversify our link, some on homepage some in internal pages and so on?

Can you please explain how PBN links aren't good enough? Why should we avoid them?

When you are writing an article, most of the time you would write "resources found at abc123.com) with an anchor, but just pointing at homepage.

It is only sometimes that you may point directly to an article or inner page. So, if you have a PBN with 50 links to your site, and all of them point to one article, not your homepage, Google wil think it looks strange and investigate

Stay away from PBNs links at all costs!

And in a very similar note, stay also away from blog commenting, profile links,

These 2 are by far the most toxic and dangerous links you can possibly build.

In fact, just stay away from these linkbuilding strategies...
  • Press releases
  • Discussion Forum Links
  • Links From Foreign Guestbooks
  • Many Random NoFollow Links
  • Private Blog Networks (PBNs)
  • NoFollowed (& Followed) Social Bookmark Links
  • Directory Submissions (or a Directory Submissions Service)
  • Blog Comments
  • Links From Fiverr or Other Cheap Link Services
  • Links Built by Automatic Link Building Programs
  • Profile Link
  • Link Exchanging
  • 301’Ing Domains

Focus on building high-quality and relevant WHITE HAT links to your "pillar posts" and make sure you have internal linking optimized.

Is really this simple.

Focus on building links from...
  • Broken links
  • Link reclamation
  • Guest Posting
  • Unlinked mentions
  • Scholarship/Student Discount
  • Promotional Giveaway
  • Steal links from inferior web pages
  • Moving Man Method
  • Skyscraper technique
  • Content repurposing
Also, always take into account the success of any linkbuilding strategy starts and ends with you building "linkable assets".

Regardless of how much time and effort you invest in building links, you won´t get the desired results if you don´t offer high-quality and relevant pieces of content that keep the reader engaged.

Lastly, also take into account other important variables like anchor text used and link-placement.

I hope this helps,

Cheers!

I disagree. Most of the time, natural backlinks point to the source, and that is an inner page, not the homepage.

first of all, you should strengthen all the content on your site, including the homepage.
