You only have 30 days to increase traffic but you can only do ONE of these two things.

What would it be . . .

1. Build backlinks for the next 30 days.

Or

2. Keep adding content for the next 30 days.

Content engagement is a vital aspect. And that will happen only when your SEO is 8/10 if not 10/10.
Work on your ON page and OFF page.
SMO works better in cases where your articles have weight and can make the user curious to Read More.
I don't know what your niche is but if its a hot topic then there is a good chance that your users might share the link to your articles on their fb/twitter etc.
There are tons of variables in play, you have to analyze and see what will work best.

focus on back links. you have already wrote a good number of content. so working on getting back links can help in ranking your site

My 2 cents:

Everyone above has valid points.

I would go back through my content and make sure it's optimized before doing anything else.
My thought is that if content is really good, it will convert the visitors once they are there.
It would be a shame to throw money/time at backlinks for content that is not converting.
