i've been using namecheap for a years, and never have a problem with them. but, reading this thread makes me a li'l bit worry.. maybe i should start movin on my domain and hosting somewhere else...
I dont have many problem as well, but when it comes to renewing they are totally fucked up. Please read again.That's what the rules for those domains state. They are not ripping you off.
Then I say: Ok, why would they let me renew it then and refund it a few minutes later, just to tell me I can renew it for $200?
Yes, but why would they let me renew it then first? Their system should directly say: Renewal costs 200 bucks. The way they did it and how they told me was such an obvious scam. The funniest part is they said it was a "mistake on their system" but then they refused to refund the hosting, even it was part of the renewal.Many registrars impose an extra fee on domains that have expired. Godaddy does it too.
