Internal pages ranking higher than home page

I cannot seem to figure out why my nearly perfect optimized homepage is ranking for nearly nothing, which some crappy internal pages are ranking for many long tails. Like I have said in other threads, I have built some amazing VERY high authority links, disavowed mystery crap links (which had thrown me out of the top 100). It is indexed, as this is not a problem. Please help with brainstorming!

I can say that your viewing your website a little off! With the awesome links to the Ivy's and beyond that you have built you don't have any crappy internal pages. One thing you can do to really leverage those links is create new content around new keywords that are similar but not covered in your pages.

It sucks that your home page is not ranking for keywords but if internal pages are you could create a lot more content and rank for a lot more.

Hello, how many words do you have on the page and is it keyword stuffed? Does google console say anything? It is kinda hard to give you ideas without looking at it too.

Well, unfortunately this is a very tight and tiny niche, and most long tails just do not have any volume (like 20 or less). If you have time and the willingness, would you be able to look at this if I sent it in a PM?

No, the pages are not stuffed, according to a CORA report I just got. I have 1400 words, where my top competitors have 800-1000 words. And Console says nothing. It is not even reflecting my internal or external linking!

The money is in the internal pages 99% of the time as opposed to the main page.

The main page is really there to support the inner pages where you target your KWs.

If any of my sites ranked for the main page and not the inner pages I would be looking to see what I did wrong.

Build out more inner pages, as it seems you are doing that correctly, using more KWs that you want to rank for and monetize them.

You proper link to the inner pages from your home page and that link juice will flow through.

You are doing it correctly, now start building more inner pages with other related KWs and slowly start building links to all your inner pages.

Well, I have MOz, Ahrefs, and SEM rush as well, and I really cannot find much enlightenment as well. However, the home pages of my competitors are sure ranking....Thanks anyway.

What keywords are your main page targeting as opposed to your internal pages? I would imagine your homepage is aiming for a competitive term and internal pages may be ranking for easier terms? If so then it seems to make sense to me.

Also if your site is new it may just be fluctuation, happens to me sometimes.

Well, what is bizarre is that the internal pages are ranking for the money keywords, where it is NOT even on those pages. And the homepage, where I have optimized the money keyword, is not in the top 100!!! wow!

The home page is the gateway; the money pages are the inner pages.
