How many internal links per blog post?

Internal links are links that point to a page within the same domain, it helps the website to be user-friendly and can improve SEO results. My question today is, how many internal links is enough?

What I do is that I don't focus on the number of internal links in my post. For as long as the internal links I'm embedding add value to what is being said in the article, it should be fine. I'd rather focus on writing a descriptive anchor text.

In SEO internal linking plays a very important role in making your website rank higher in all the search engine platforms. There is no such limitation that how many internal linking can you do but it should look natural and relevant according to the post.

As long as your links are useful for your users, it's okay. There used to be a rule of no more than 100 links on a page in the Google Webmaster Guidelines, they've removed that rule though.

There's not an exact number. I'd suggest you look at your competitors and see what they're doing. I must add that sometimes it depends on the niche. For example, in health sites, you can see lots of internal links compared to other niches.

Based on my experiment, if these were generated through plugins, and if they are relevant within your site/blog and with a structure which doesn't look spammy (plugins do implement best-practices most of the time), then you can in fact increase the threshold accordingly, without much adverse effect from that.
