So I have been thinking about doing tiktok videos for a while now since I knew that Instagram is pretty much saturated and the chance to land in the trending page is pretty low.

Yesterday I spontaneously decided to film a tiktok Video of me. (I basically copied a simple Video which went Viral in tiktok before)

I had like 0 followers when I uploaded the Video so I followed about 10 people and went to bed.

I woke up with 37,6k views and a lot of likes. Now, 24 hours after I posted the Video I have already reached 320k views 40,3k likes, and 300 comments on it and gained about 1100 followers.

I am kinda shocked that it was so simple, I linkend my Snapchat account to it and got about 100 new followers there as well.

Does anyone here have made similar experiences with tiktok or do you think it was just luck?

Even if it was luck, does anyone know how the algorithm works? Like how did people even find out about my video since I didn't have any followers at all before?

The thing is what's mainly bothering me with TikTok are some features that are missing to do proper marketing. + I kinda feel awkward using TikTok knowing it doesn't have a "website" like Facebook, for e.g.

You better scale and work your ass off while you can because this is just like everything else, it will become saturated also as that is what marketers do so go for it!

I just copied a video of a guy which basically copied the behavior of bus drivers in Germany, just in a very exaggerated way.

In Germany, it feels like every bus driver knows each other and they always and with always I mean ALWAYS great each other while driving but they don't care for anything else then greeting each other. So in the video I basically acted like a Bus driver who doesn't give a fck about anything, {someone not having a ticket, a famous person getting in etc) but then greeting like a maniac when seeing another busdriver.

So it was pretty simple, short and filmed with a basic iPhone X

you are right, I was kinda scared at first too, since I thought it would be pretty embarrassing if friends would find out I am doing tiktok, but the more I talked to my friends about this, the more i found out that a lot of my friends already have the app installed and are watching videos.
And if you think about it Instagram doesn't really have a website as well, at least not one you can use completely like uploading photos, etc.

You better scale and work your ass off while you can because this is just like everything else, it will become saturated also as that is what marketers do so go for it!

I am gonna give it my best, If I should reach 100k followers on TikTok, I will try out youtube and see how many of my tiktok followers will follow me.

TBH I have no idea how TikTok works but if think outside the box, I would set something up online, print a crazy flashy tshirt and have a URL very visible on that shirt, or some poster on the wall and film in front of it or something like that.

Unfortunately I'm in the position I have to prioritize stuff so don't have time to fuck with TikTok at this time.

I know that tiktok has the reputation that it is all about dancing because of musically, but in reality the dance videos are the minority, most of em are comedy or someone telling a story.

are you guys importing the video to an external video editing app before posting it on tiktok? Tiktoks AI knows if a video is just a repost, you have to edit or save the video on an external editing app before posting the video on tiktok.

And yes I pretty much did my own video with my face and stuff, the video is at 450k views with 57k likes now and it is still trending

You don't really have to stay on tiktok, just try to get your tiktok followers to follow you on your instagram page or your youtube account and make money with them there.

Otherwise you can earn money:

1. Through Brand Sponsoring.
2. Shoutout to other TikTok User.
3. In the Future, TikTok introduces its Monetization program which is currently in beta.
4. Selling Your Own Products.
5. Selling other people products to your users and get some commission.

Yeah this is my process: download a video on IG, import into a video editing app then export it immediately. I create 2 accounts this week but receive no views, maybe it got flagged or sth.

The Tiktok algorithm is pretty weird. Nearly everyone gets a chance to start at the trending / for you page, in that phase a lot of factors play an important role.

Let's say you just posted a video, Tik Tok will then put your Video to the trending page for let us say 100-300 people(where would you otherwise get the little views from, since I, for example, didn't have any followers before uploading my video)

Let us call this phase the cold Phase. In This Phase:
Tik Tok checks out how good your video is: they check if the person who watched your video watched it till the end, they check how often someone watched your video (thats why a lot of people are doing endless looping videos, so you actually don't know if the video ended, then they look at how many people liked your video, commented on them, etc.

After that phase Tik Tok shows it to 2000-3000 people for example, if your video performs good, it will stay there.

So, in Conclusion, try to keep your videos really short, funny and entertaining, if you want to stay on the trending page for a long time.

Yeah I have came across a Youtube channel that discuss specifically about Tiktok algorithm, all the phases, verticality, zombie accounts etc.

However, what happens for me is this, I don't even have the cold phase, which means I don't even have any view at all for newly created account (less than 10 views). I think it's because I'm reposting content but I'm not sure since I already import and export the videos via InView so Tiktok should not be able to detect it.

Anyway, I think I will create original content via the Tiktok app itself and see how it goes. Normally when you create content, do you shoot and upload it or you do via the app?

Here in Sweden! We have pewdiepie but i understand what you mean, absolutely we have talented kids who are successful in creating videos but marketing and selling products via a Social Network where it used most by kids sounds not easy...
