onlinepiracy and india

I had to lodge complaint against someone once, which had something to do with paypal. It was rather funny seeing the police officer's face when he read my complaint. He was like "wtf is papal?". Most of them are idiots, who never touched computers lol. What would you expect? :p

P.S. Not trying to be a racist. I live in India, and this situation is real.. lol.
I actually can understand your situation because perhaps you were cheated and hence wanted to lodge a police complaint. I do sympathize with you, yes. But, on the contrary "their" lack of knowledge may be beneficial too. There is always a silver lining on all sides, we need to be able to spot them.

That part made me to laugh and literally roll on the floor ... Because you are so right .... In India, if someone goes to police to complain "my website has been copied, etc", the police will call a psychiatrist (brain doctor) to handle the situation further.
there is movie ugly,it shown child kidnapping also taken by police veyr lightly

Well, you may be right. I did not go to the cyber crime department directly. I went to the police station. That being said, they did take my complaint and took prompt action. I was never harassed (long story lol) after that. So, I give them that, atleast. :)

you cannot really blame these guys. being police is already a tough thing in india and they only know what they are taught in academy. Also these guys are not from iit or nit so knowing paypal is out of question. we can expect something from cyber crime department.

Leave these poor policemen.... i once went to branch manager of psu bank and asked about paypal .... he straightaway denied anything like paypal. Now most of the time even if these guys know something they just act like dumb unless you have some power or recognition.

Also add the fact that I am talking about 2008-9 when paypal wasn't that "popular" in India. Only the tech support scammers, and freelancers knew about this option. So yeah.. I shouldn't be complaining. :p

Still, it never fails to make me laugh if I remember that officer's face on that day. :p

For "hard-core" "hustlers", India ranks number one for "ease" of doing "business" ("hard-core hustle business").
