[Help] Moving a WP site to a new host

All I'm trying to do here is a move my WP site to my new host and I'm having a hard time.

Perhaps, someone here could help me (would probably be a few-minute task to the right person) or point me in the right direction.

I downloaded the Duplicator plugin but when it tries to do a build of the site I receive this error:

This server cannot complete the build due to host setup constraints.

To get past this hosts limitation consider the options below by clicking each section:

• Option 1: Try DupArchive
• Option 2: File Filters
• Option 3: Two-Part Install
• Option 4: Configure Server

Any help would be very, very much appreciated!

No mate, dont do it like that. This is more easy.

1- Manually copy your files and database (download it from the cpanel)

2- go to the new host and upload everything (create a new db and upload the sql to it)

3- change the db details in wp-config

4- go to /wp-admin and uodate permalinks

5- you're done

You don't need any plugin to move to new host.

1. Just take the backup of your files (from cPanel).
2. Take the MYSQL Database backup.
3. Upload files on new host
4. Create a new MYSQL Database backup and upload the old database
5. Open wp-config.php file and update your new database details there.
6. Done.

If you still need the help, personal message me. I can do it on team-viewer or on my PC, without taking any charges (make sure the backup don't take to much time in download).

I moved my company's website a year or two ago over new years from a shared GoDaddy to a VPS hosted elsewhere. The above steps is how I did it. Database backup, restored on new server, downloaded my wp-content directory and uploaded it to the new server. Everything else stayed the same. Logged in via the IP address of the new server and tested everything. Updated the main page with an extra period so I could distinguish one site from the other. Updated the DNS. Waited until it propagated and various sites and devices showed the new site (with the extra period). Then disabled the old site a week or two later (left running in case I needed an emergency fallback).

This process took very little of my time, I spent more time waiting for the files to upload than anything else. No need for fancy plugins or paying.

Why dont you ask your hosting provider to move your site instead?
If you are migrating from cPanel to cPanel it wont be difficult for your hosting provider to move your data without any loss

Try to do the Updraft wordpress backup plugin. Best for migrating from one hosting to another hosting.

But it works for same domain only. For example, abc.com backup will be uploaded to abc.com only, not xyz.com

I have used all the wp migration plugins. I also tried to move host manually and I can tell you wp all in one migration plugin is easiest way. just 2 clicks and done.

I did lot of wp migration for my clients, from linux to win server and vice versa, and also from linux to linux. This what I'd always do and its work perfectly most of the time.

1. Manually download all your wp files and databases from your current server
2. Manually upload all those files and database to your new server
3. Configure your wp-config file for new database credentials
4. Try to access your admin panel. If cannot access, then go to your wp db > wp_options table > change value of siteurl and home column to your url
5. After successfully enter your admin dashboard, try to check whether all pages/post are working. If not use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/velvet-blues-update-urls/ to correct url of all post/pages/images etc.
6. Go to Permalinks and Save Changes to refresh the setting you have made.

The easiest way is to copy your file from your current host and upload it to your new host. Change domain name server. And reinstall WordPress

Just use the updraft plugin for yoyr website backup.. an move your website to new hosting..

Whenever your site is completely moved to your new hosting..

Just login your website an install again updraft plugin.

An upload your backup ..
