Amazon got a great algorithm on finding the review swap process. It is very dangerous and usually if the ban you that you will not be able to continue.
Getting some review is important, but it is not the main success issue.
There are many books with few or no reviews but are very good sell.

i would not suggest to buy review.

I actually tried it, with 5 reviews only, and the book disappeared to oblivion, and never sold again.
It was selling constantly every other day. This is why I wouldn't try it again.

Right now it's not much, since I price low to gain rank and get reviews. I've made $40+ last month.

My stats for this month so far:
Sales 78
Royalties $65.07
Average royalties per sale $0.83

I could be making $2-$3 per sale, but I'm not increasing the prices just yet. Patiently waiting for Q4.

I'm doing a test for a strange niche that seems to be popular. Here's a popular coloring book in that niche:


So here's a coloring book I'm creating:


I've already done 30 pages, need to finish another 70. The whole book should take me about 20 hours to make, so I hope it will be worth it.
I have no ideas for the cover yet, but it needs to be something very attracting to customers since it matters a lot to get those first sales.

Do you bother to get the "Look inside" feature for all your books? Seems to take ages for it to be added, and its a huge hassle to apply for it for every pen name.
No idea why they made it so hard for paperbacks, its added automatically for eBooks.
It´s kinda needed for getting sales.

I haven't done that yet, but it's time to start emailing them to allow my books to feature more than 2 pages of interior, since I always get only two. Thanks for reminding me.

i used AMS for sometime and it seems that is great tools and ROI is higher around 50%.
But the issue is that you must know exactly how to promote the books and when.

Does this industry requires a background knowledge in graphic design to dive in ?
or just some weeks to get familiar with illustrator and/or photoshop and ur good to go

You dont need to be a 'supermen' and know everything.
You can outsource the cover pages if you have a good content.

Notebook 6x9 100 pages bleed cream (default)
I just got my notebook approved yesterday..

I'm keeping the profit at $2 but might follow your strategy to take profit @$0.50

I've been busy uploading and sales have been pretty slow so that's why I didn't update the thread. I've upped some prices, and yesterday I got a coloring book sale with $3.49 royalty.

I use bookbolt and puzzlewiz, you can check the first post for the tools I use.

Today I saw that a popular magazine here is giving away a free mandala coloring book with the purchase of a copy. You might get more sales if people like it and wants to buy another one

I've been following your journey since you posted the thread and I'm thinking about using tshirt designs to create notebooks. Is it harder to get sales than with the other no-content books?

This thread gave me the idea of publishing some books for my daughter.

She is in first grade and is a much better illustrator than me. She also tells great stories so I pitched the idea to her and she loved it.

She has been practicing every day

I figure if she starts at 6 she can have quite the following when she's my age
