hi everyone

I found expired domains for my new niche "pets" using Domain Hunter Gatherer v2 but since I'm not an expert guy in this area and I don't know if these domains are good or not, I need your help choosing one of them.

So, can you guys help me with this matter?

thanks to you all

@Nargil is your go to guy for expired domain knowledge. He is the ultimate guru.

Drop everything with RD below 9 or 10. That's really not worth the bother and take it from there.

If these are for PBNs, okay, if you want to use any of these for a money site, then forget it and either go to auctions and pay at least a few hundred bucks for something decent, or start with fresh domain.

Thank you very much for your great help

I would suggest you also drop anything that has less than 5 referring domains, and check the backlinks profile and history of each domain before you jump on it

Thank you for your help i appreciate it

I use ahrefs to find out historical traffic of any old domains, i perfer the domain with traffic grows slowly and stable.

DA and PA should both at least be above 10, as a bare minimum. And check archive.org to see if the site was super spammy before.

Check everything manually. First of all check they are index in Google or not by simply typing site:yourdomain.com
If it is visible in Google then great. Just go to moz & check DA & Spam Score. Spam score shouldn't more then 8%. Check backlinks profile. Are the backlinks are from Good domains or generated using tools. Check their previous niche in way back machine then decide to buy them.

Also check the ratio between number of referring sites & total backlinks. If number of referring sites is low and total backlinks are high, the backlinks seem shady

Sorry, but i could not disagree more i have found numerous expired domains with a great backlink profile that i have turned into successful money sites for no more than the registration cost, this is just bad advice, and it really makes me wonder why you gave it...

Because everything is a one huge conspiracy and I have nothing better to do than to lie to newbies to spend their hard earned $20 to buy my services. Why else of course.

If it worked for you, good, well done. That's not how it mostly goes however.

I have been here long enough to know when people are lowkey selling or promoting, you devolpe a radar for it and yes that it happened to me means that it can happen to everyone if you just put the effort in.

There is NO NEED to spend hundreds of dollars on domains, like I said, bad advice and I am not selling shit (-_-)

Just don't rely on your radar too much, because it's pretty off. I sell whatever domains ranging from $5 to $5000. This is a side job, I can log out of here, never log in again and my life would not be any worse for it. I am not depending on spreading bullshit to actually make money, like some here do.

If it happened to you, it means it can happen to anyone who is actually qualified to turn on a computer and can use his/her head. Which, alas, does not apply to most users of this forum.

Using domains (overall) can be problematic for newcomers for these reasons:

- It can be problematic to find something niche relevant (this applies to whatever domains)
- Domain can be penalized, or otherwise screwed up, most people do not have the ability to properly check the domain background.
- Finding something brandable can be pain in the ass
- Most people are unable to evaluate backlinks properly, nor have any idea how anchors actually impact the money site

So all in all, registering a small domain and avoiding aforementioned issues can be troublesome. And all of it because of a few referring domains that will not help you rank much better (if at all) is simply not worth the bother.

Not to mention that most people here first pick a niche and then start looking for a domain, which can be borderline impossible sometimes. It should be done the other way around, finding a nice domain and picking a niche based on it.

That's why my "bad advice" is: If you actually want to spend time and money on an expired domain as a money site, make it worth your while and spend big. That's the reason why bigger auction domains in particular niches like health, go for such ridiculous prices.

If you do your homework properly, bigger domain will rank well without any further SEO. Smaller domain will not (depending on competition) and will require further spending on SEO services/PBNs, you name it.

So while people who know what they are doing can work and grow with smaller domains, newbies won't be able to do that and will expect miracles from RD5 domain which won't do crap.

Are we clear now?

I facepalmed on this so hard. YOU found good expired domains worth anything all by yourself? Great! Now this means:
1. You know how to scrape for domains.
2. You know how to check the domains in the archive.
3. You have Ahrefs/Majestic/Moz account (or more than one)
4. You can properly evaluate links.
5. You have enough free time to justify looking for domains that you can buy for $15-$20.

Now let me ask you, what percentage of the users have all of the above? The skills, the means and the time?

I am so sorry that I triggered one of the Nargil fanboys, my bad...

If i can find them, anyone else can as i am not a domainer and i have no secret tricks of finding them, Scrapebox, Ahref, WaybackMachine and Domdetailer.

I think telling people to spend a view $100 on auctions to buy a domain for a money site bad advice.

Are we clear now?

Yep, people spending $2-3k more on the auctions are dumb, you are the smartest one for getting them for free. All clear indeed.

If it is possible to get for free clean 100+ RD expired domain i'm certainly in. Maybe i just have no skills to do it.....
