After joining this forum a while ago i have gone through a few phases of taking shots a the dream of passive income with the means of the internet. Currently i make a living not so passively with a day to day job. I enjoy it. For the past year i have learned a lot about enterprise cloud architecture and i hope it will come in handy.

When i first joined i made a relatively big investment for me at the time when i bought followliker for instagram. I can't remember exactly how many accounts i worked but i managed to get up to a few thousand followers within the luxurious car niche.

Holy shit, as i am writing this post i remembered i still have that account in my lastpass, and sure enough i got in. Well i thought i would start from zero but now i have a relatively old IG account with 2.6k followers.

Anyway, moving on from the short instagram journey. After a while i bought some odd domains, keyword research, SEO and content. I remember it had something to do with diapers. That shot lasted even shorter and life went on.

Here we are, fueled with new knowledge about coding, web apps and cloud architecture in general i hope to make this one count. I dont have a clear plan. I have a good income from work to invest in what i find. And by making this post i commit to keep posting what i do, what i spend and hopefully some day what i get back.

Today i started making investments and a plan for a first shot at a new project.

What i've done so far

  • Applied to become a dropshipper of niched products from a wholesaler. Not liking all the middlemen but they have some great products
  • Bought a fresh domain that works for those products. $15 for a .com
  • Bought an almost turn key woocommerce store from a guy at BHW. $50
  • Bought a dedicated server in France to host the website. $15 per month
I want to build a brand withing this space in the long term so being a dropshipper of an american wholesaler is not optimal but its a cheap alternative for starting out. I think i would find just about every product they have on Alibaba.

The server in France is currently being deployed. Hopefully i can install WordPress tonight and give the woocommerce-guy access.

Good luck with this! Following.

So after getting of work today i checked my dedicated server in the portal and its still under deployment. I asked the salesteam about it and they said yeah that can happen so i guess i will have to wait another day to get going on installing WordPress.

Another bummer was that the wholesaler only accepts established sites to apply for dropshipping. Im thinking about buying an inventory from them and do offline-marketing. I have an idea about handing out what is essentially flyers at a convention that reflects the niche. There is one comming up in my city end of august. Minimum order is $450 so i have to think about that one over night. But i really believe in the product..

Will not be starting Followliker today either since the server is not available yet.

Leading up to my niche convention im thinking about reaching out to a few local microinfluencers and offering them a commision. If i can pay 0 for exposure and only pay a part of my revenue thats a win. As i said i want to build this website to become a recognized brand in the niche.

After gaining access and installing debian on my server and not being able to sort out the installation of wordpress i reinstalled with ubuntu. Site theme logo content is on its way. I used a site recommended here to write a few articles, looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

Regarding the dropshipping which turned into wholesaling which i now have to decide on what to do. i dont know what to do. Probably i will not order $450 Minimum order only to get slapped with taxes and stuff. And i would still have to ship the stuff myself which sounds like an all in all bad deal. I am looking for another dropshipvendor within the same niche.

Also, when my imagination was running wild i got an idea on how to capitalize on the boom & bust nature that is the internet and social media. Hopefull i can find an opportunity soon and share parts of it.

Finally got the server up and running WordPress on apache2. Its probably not the most cost efficient and i will move to managed hosting service some time in the future. But now i've learned how to do that.

Moving on i got some exciting news. I launched my 100% legit shopify store. It's in a premium niche. I searched for shopify on BHW but didnt find any tactics. Anyone experienced that can help me out? Willing to share what i know about cloud architecture that could add to your own methods.

So after a few days and with really poor perfomance on my ads for my shopify i decided to sshut that project down.

The wordpress site is still under development and i might have found a partner that can help with marketing. Really excited about that.
