Hi,

I am thinking to build a bot for Pinterest posting. I have heard from different sources that it is the best to do it via API. I have some questions regarding to this.
1. How difficult it is to get API key? Are there any specific reasons why they reject the application?
2. Should there be a website / sales page built for the application for the API to show that it is a real service (not mentioning the bot)?
3. Can I buy such API key somewhere?
4. Does Pinterest regurarly check the service what you used to get the API key?
5. Are there any easy tricks to get the API key?
6. Any special rules to follow after receiving the API key (not to get banned from the API service)?

Thank you for any help!

I think if you are developing a bot for any social media platform people should start shying away from API access and focusing on CV(Computer Vision) to automate everything.

The benefits are you dont need an API key.
You are in complete control in what you get and send.
Undetectable.

The issue is that with regular bots you need proxy, but with API you can use oauth, which means you have much-much less risk. What do you think?

Can you please give any recommendations? What type of app is the easiest to get approved?

thx.

Thank you for the suggestion. Why do you think that it can be caught fast? I know some people do this and they are very-very effective.

I'm not a coder myself, but I see you are. Great scraping tool! :)

I used https://github.com/Krusen/PinSharp to make a simple bot, that would pin stuff on schedule. Had no problems getting api keys and posting stuff. I stayed below the radar and did not have any problems.

Still I decided to buy Pin Blaster, because it offered follow/unfollow. Sadly it's not being supported anymore :(

this is what i expect actually , if you are coder you will not ask such question , anyways good luck with your project .

Bot developer, that wants to buy an API?

Good. Now go reverse the Mobile APP and have fun with it.

Thank you! Great that you have a working bot. I saw some githubs as well, want to use an other for my bot, but this seems to be also promising. Thank you for the recomendation.

So your bot is still functioning? Did the API key reuqire to have some kind of a website or something, or was just enough to say that you want an API key?

Thank you for your help!

No, I'm not a developer... :) But what you said the the mobile app seems to be interesting... Any recommendations where can I read about such thing or somebody providing such service?

Thank you!

It's probably still working, haven't tried it for almost 2 years.

Don't remember having to enter any specific information. Getting API access for Twitter on the other hand, it requires a some bullshitting to get approved :)

Is your scheduler maybe available for sale?
