Great journey so far! Can you share some tips on how you do niche research?
Thanks! I use BookBolt and KDP Spy for research, they are mentioned in the main post. I'll try to write a step by step method from research to publishing your first book and I'll make a thread here on BHW.
A couple of years back when kdp and createspace were separate i had a few creatspace accounts that i did not mind burning.
I abused the shit out of trademarks for low content books and found something quite interesting.
The average book made me about $3000-$5000 each month in royalties and each account lasted about 8 months before it got banned. So each account made me about $24,000 - $40,000 before it got banned.
But like anything quick bh money comes with a risk.
If you dont mind burning accounts you will make a lot more abusing trademarked low content books than non trademarked.
Your numbers are fire. I've heard about the method back then, but I never tried it (I wish I did).
You've got some illustration skills nice work, watching this thread as I can see these books bringing in some serious $ down the line.
I have no illustration skills at all, I just use pre-made plugins for illustrator to create the mandalas.
I agree that with this approach that you do not really need writing skills, but looking at your examples, Photoshop/Image creation skills are def needed. Very interesting approach to KPD, please keep sharing and updating!
Correct, but they're not a must. With a $99/year freepik license you can just move things around and create book covers in a minute. Thanks, I'll keep you guys up to date.

I really enjoyed this thread so far, would never of imagined creating books as a sideline, you always have that ideas you need to be an author etc i guess but this method is pretty amazing. I guess this is why BHW is such a unique corner of the www.
Thank you for sharing though as it has really made me think also on a few different ideas, something you can be doing in bed while watching a movie.
Good luck with this journey, will be following along with you.
Thanks man! Make sure to create your own journey thread.
=============================================================================================================================================
In the last 3 days I sold 9 books in total. My bestseller got another review, but unfortunately for me this time it's a 3 star one and this brings the rating of the book down to 4.0 . The mandala drawings were too thick for the buyer.
With my bestseller priced at $3.99 I made $0.21 per sale.
This book has sold 66 times until now and has made me $101.46.
I have only 2 reviews on it, which means 3% of the buyers left a review on my book. The average of amazon buyers that leave reviews is 3% to 5%, so not bad for me hitting the 3%.
I'm bumping its price to $9.99 ($3.81 royalties) and I will report back if it keeps selling at the higher price.
