Even though I spend a lot of time on BHW I am not very active. Nevertheless, I've read enough here to know how things work on the Marketplace.
My concern is on the review system.
Admins are "given" a review copy and then write their impression...
But let's face it, what does happen when you know that this moderator is basically deciding whether your business is going to run or not? You over-deliver. TAT is faster, quality is better etc. I'm not even blaming this, it's just human nature.

The reason why I am saying this is that I've used services on the Marketplace, and the result was almost everytime the same: quality wasn't there.
Now, it is important to say that it is not necessarily the seller's fault: we all know how fussy our dear Google is and changing rules every now and then clearly influences sellers performance.
But this transparency is in my opinion what makes a business trustworthy.
I am a bit tired having to run behind sellers to get reports promised a lot sooner, or to have to delete or fix dead links or worse: rewrite reports as metrics are clearly wrong (like really really really wrong).

I have been in sales, and I believe in humanity so I do not think sellers are trying to fool us, but maybe we should think of another way to provide reviews. This is particularly true for services that are more than 2 or 3 years old. So much has changed since then and the fact that people post on the thread "used it again, works like a charm" doesn't say much about the actual service.
I mean it is good to know the service got delivered but a constructive review would be nice for everyone to read.

The original moderator that reviews the service often states that if we notice a change in the quality of the service, we should let them know but this cannot come from only one person: it should be a group's effort to take the time to review the work done.

So maybe I am just one unlucky person, or maybe more of you feel the same... And it is time to change the review process.

You're absolutely right. everyday i see these shitlist threads about quality, quality, quality.. So yeah a change from time-to-time won't hurt.

Well @kelphano - lucky you! As part of our new marketplace this is covered.
We're working on a solution that allows more feedback from verified buyers, both good and bad so the users of the platform can see trends over time and make their buying decisions accordingly.

If the QUALITY isn't there then report the thread.

This is why some MOD's (in their approval comment) mention that YOU should receive the same quality of service provided as they did for the review and if NOT then report the thread.

It's true; some sellers over-deliver and provide a better service on the review copy then what's sold. However, if this happens, reporting the thread with the details surrounding what you received will help the MOD to take appropriate action.

Wow amazing! Can’t wait for the update! :) Do you approximately when BHW will finish with the update?

Maybe there should be plans to add "mystery" shoppers who purchase services as it ages to see if the quality is still good or has deteriorated.

Maybe we already do that.

Admins, Mods, Execs and Jr. Execs are playing with the new platform at the moment. It's essentially a core code update, it should look and work in a very similar way. BUT it allows us to build out and develop opportunities (like the marketplace) much more efficiently.
If you'd like early BETA access drop me a pm and we'll hook you up.
