Banned on a game

Good day,

I hope this is the right section but I'm not sure . Recently I got banned on a game which I'm playing on a virtual machine and I'm using a VPN. When I change the IP I still can't manage to login but when I make a new virtual machine I can login again. Now I don't really care about the ban but I'm actually very intrested in how they track me here. It looks like they track that particular virtual machine but how? I already deleted cache from the game and downloaded it again, didn't help.

Is it a MAC ban or something? Can't figure it out.

Yes I've had it too before on a RuneScape Private Server, you are MAC banned. They probably logged your machine when you played the game. (Assuming it's downloaded software)

Haha what a coincidence. I'm also banned on a runescape private server. But if I'm MAC banned why can I login with other virtual machines?

I am not sure if you can play games on virtual machines.

Because a virtual machine has it's own MAC address I'm pretty sure. It's a whole new OS installation

Ur right I looked it up and each virtual machine has it's own MAC-adress. I also managed to change it but it doesn't bypass the ban.
