Gear for RPi-based 4g proxy for instagram

Hey guys, I am trying to setup a proxy for Instagram, I believe i'm having trouble with the gear I bought.

I managed to create a working 4g proxy with a Raspberry Pi and 1 dongle, and I now want to connect to it more dongles. Unfortunately, when I connect another dongle to the Pi through a powered usb hub, the Pi just freezes. If I disconnect either of the dongles, the Pi works as usual again.

I believe this is a problem with the USB hub or the dongles, both are generic unbranded ones (do note again that the hub I'm using is a powered one), but not sure.

I would appreciate it if someone who has a working RPi proxy setup could tell me what usb hub works for them, with what 4g dongles, so I could try and get those (or, if someone has another idea why I'm experiencing this issue...). Thanks!

the usb hub is not powered enough! try a Orico usb hub but they little bit expensive but good. and with powered i mean plugged in the wall. :)
The hub you using now is eating all the raspberry pi his energy and freezes. :p when i add more than 6 dongle my RPI freeze to since my usb hub can handle is max 6. more than 6 it will eat my raspberry pi his energy and freeezeee !:) though i got a usb hub with 10 ports can only use 6 of them.

Maybe there are cheaper ones than Orico usb hub. :p

Manhattan USB 2.0 Desktop Hub is a cheaper version and works the same.
 
I tested it but make sure you're using only 5 dongles if you're using more the pi freezes.

Okay so I did buy Orico usb hub and still have the same problem, once I connect more than 1 dongle the PI freezes :(

Maybe that's the dongles?

No, I haven't follow anything I just did it by my self but now I am having a problem to connect more than two dongles.. Seems like no one is actually willing to help so I am just going to get 500 android smart phones and do it that way instead of dongles, already worked with 3 phones so scale up is not a problem.

Instead of PI I will use Desktop and instead of dongles I will use Android phone, the only question left is how many phones I can connect to one desktop, if it's over 20-30 then that's perfect, each phone cost me 45$ which is expensive tbh but i don't see another option as for now.

You have your own 4g also? If so, I will appreciate that if you can tell me what is your gear and how many mobiles\dongles are possible to connect per pc

So you have your own 4g proxy? Any chance you can tell me the exact gear you use? (USB Hub, Dongle etc) I will just get the same equipment if possible,

Hi, this is really interesting, can you share me any tip/keyword to look for, I want to connect more than one phone to one desktop and make as a VPN server if you can help I'll be much appreciated.

I am looking to build something with at least 500 different IPs as I am planning to run thousands of accounts.

I bought Orico 10 ports already for around 40$, it didn't work and when I tried to connect additional dongle the PI died =\

really curious maybe it's because I bought the cheapest dongles on eBay ??
