I used the SuperAlexaBooster yesterday and sent 1000 hits to my website.
I have just looked at my google stats for yesterday and it does not show 1000 additional hits. It just shows the normal amout of traffic.
Also my Alexa ranking went up from 4,104,000 to 4,117,000.
Aside from being a numptee, what am I doing wrong?
Google ads and Statcounter stats both require javascript to activate them. Super AlexaBooster does not activate the javascript in the same way that search engine spiders don't activate it. You'd need to look in your webhosts stat files to find these hits.
Super AlexaBooster does work, I've checked using a network analyzer to look at the individual packets. Unfortunately, what it reports as hits is not correct. An awful lot of the proxies used don't work, but it still reports them as hits. I've confirmed this using the same packet analysis.
The best thing you can do is download as many proxy lists as you can find, and load them one at a time letting them run for a day or so before changing them.
If the developer could fix his reporting errors, he could build in a method of outputting a list of good, working proxies, which would help us all. I'm not a programmer, but I can see in the network analyser logs, the valid responses to a successful post, so it shouldn't be that difficult.
As far as foxyproxy is concerned, I haven't found a way of rotating through the proxies yet, what I've been doing is using a .pac file to load the proxy list, and every few hours, going in and deleting the first proxy in the list to force it to use the next one. That's how I discovered that a lot of the proxies are bad. Some generate a login request, some result in chinese garbage on the page plus other errors. I just keep deleting until I find one that works.
Bear in mind that if you use a browser with foxyproxy and reload every, you do need to disable the google ads at least on the page you are reloading. You can leave the statcounter code in place to monitor the traffic, though I did notice with one site that even set to reload every 10 seconds, with the statcounter code contained in an include file separate from the page, it took that long to load the page that the statcounter code never got loaded.
Hope this info helps.
