What's a good bounce rate?

Hey BHW hope all is well!

I was wondering what you guys consider a good bounce rate?

My website has been live for about 45 days and the average bounce rate for the past 45 days has been 14% is this a good bounce rate?

I've done some research and found that anything in the 40-50% rate is good... but I feel like thats super high.

14% is not the right sign unless you have the catchy website and people are really love it. For me its always more than 50%

14 percent is jaw dropping! Like others have stated 40 percent is the idea number. Bounce rate is solely about how many pages or sessions a user generated.

Forums like our blackhat bounce rate is shockingly low because we all are engaging in multiple pages.

Bounce rate also is a advertiser friendly term really. They feel if a publisher has lower bounce rate the potential for them to earn more off a user is higher then someone with high bounce rate.

Some crafty programmers made hacks to drive your bounce rate down intentionally. I personally wouldn’t used it but people do to present their site is more ideal to advertising companies

Yeah just took a look... and it looks like I'm at 18% so far.

I feel like my websites still too new to tell how well it'll do. But It's new and interesting to people so they stay and read a lot of the page.

It’s a great problem to have trust me!

Once u grow to the point of heavy traffic volumes having reader engagement like that will work in your favor for earnings really!

40%-50% is not super high and normal
You cannot expect 100% of people go through more than one page of the site unless you're using quizzes or paginated content.

can you provide the bounce rate as it is shown on alexa.com? also it has competitor average.

alexa shows at very high level how you are compered to the sites it believes are your competitors. not as accurate as google, but directionaly correct.

Bounce rate between 35% to 40% is considered as good between 40% to 50% is considered as average and after that is considered as a bad bounce rate.

Lower bounce rate is good but The site is new and the traffic is low to make anything of it. If you keep it up when you're heavy in traffic, then you're golden

If you're talking about the deskx site, I would think you'd have a higher bounce since it's a single page. Almost all visitors outside of clients, which is on a separate page, should bounce since a bounce is only visiting the landing page without navigating further, right? (I've never ranked a single page site, so I very VERY well could be wrong, but it makes sense in my head). The analytics code that triggers the second call to Google (the part which tells G that the visit isn't a bounce) might be firing early and too often, and your numbers may be skewed.

Make sure you don't have duplicate analytics code, choose events that accurately measure a non-bounce (i.e. user scrolls past the 50% mark for example), and that software like your chat aren't auto-firing events for all visitors. (perhaps 14% of your visitors can't run your live chat widget in their browser and for those visitors, the visit is registered as a bounce for example.) I think I would consider under 20-23% to contain outliers somewhere.

I do see it's on Wix. Do they by chance add Google Analytics with their own platform? If so, did you also add it to your page yourself? If you're sure the setup is correct, it could just be a lack of data. For instance, you had people check for grammar issues and such, and that would also keep a bounce rate down depending on how many people looked to the end of the page.

i got post this question before. in fact you are right .
I read up around , etc a lot claim 40-50 is the standard range for most site

60 above is not say good , so so

more than 70 , 80 is bad

BUT , some folks claim bounce rate is " subjective " Some visitors want that piece of info
happen to find your site , go that page , after few sec leave never continue stay on your site read or see other stuffs.
thus this will make your site bounce rate high naturally.

is not your site not good, is vistors find the info , and happen your site provide so they visit just Aim only that info and leave

if i NOT wrong remember , low bounce rate means your visitors
stay on your site longer than few sec , beside reading the info they search
also see other pages in the site ,

that's what I read , yup . alot claim 50 - 60 , below 70 is kinda standard bounce rate range.

BUT again as i have mention is kinda " subjective sometimes " as visitors some just go one page read just a few sec depend how long your content etc can make them
stay longer or roughly read and leave. thus this will affect the bounce rate too.
