Another Google Update on It's way

Lost 20+ ranking pages on a site where I never built links :l The Rd is literally 15 for that site.

Was ranking due to relevancy and interlinking. Weird serps today.

Lets wait for the dust to settle down.

Not too bad for me so far. My really high ranking pages stayed the same. My lower ranking pages on positions like 8-25 dropped a few places. Fingers crossed it stays this way.

Competitor passed me on front page for a affiliate site but he has a top video so he has blog and video ranked on KW. An undeserving high DA domain remains tops despite having only 700 words and website nothing to do with niche. So Google hasn't fixed this issue and still favors big sites.

Business site is finally cracking front page for a high value local kw in a major city so excited if this holds.

Probably lost some rankings, if I can trust 'atserps' but google search console isn't showing movements...
who should one trust more? Google Search Console or a third party Rank Tracker?

The moral is don't do blackhat tactics or google will spank your ass.

Usually search console is behind 2-3 days.

Our CBD website got absolutely shafted. Bunch of our pages (many on page 1) got deindexed or moved way down the SERPs. Ahrefs showing a majority of our keywords have been lost. No PBNs either.

Going to be a fun day...
Have fun rebuilding, man

Got a couple of sites destroyed as well.

Cleanest highest quality articles ranking for years are now gone.

That's the name of the game. Gotta step up the black hat since the white hat got nuked.

Well, you weren't blackhat enough man! xD

Google updated the answer to zero legs that is 100% proof that Google employees are watching this forum.
but still, it says humans have 8 heads xD

I track roughly 95 money keywords for my site, seen a positive change accross the board on average by about 5 positions with 80% - 90% of them! Positions 8 - 9 now up to positions 3 - 4. Serp book is almost green for all keywords!

...so far, I'm liking the update...

Time will tell though!!

But if everyone decided to start their own threads instead of using existing threads then it will be a mess. So instead of replying, each person can start their own. You could end up with dozens of identical threads is all I'm saying

your right but it all comes down to getting the post count up right? that's all the new threads are for. which in the end causes mass confusion in the forum for the rest of us.

Areyou f'ing high? YOU ARE WHAT GOOGLE IS TRYING TO GET RID OF!!!! Bro that thread is from 2012. Thats like starting a fire with rocks bro ANCIENT TIMES!!! GO work at McDonald's
I am stone sober, never worked at a fast food place, and my sites (which do not mainly rely on Google) are doing fine. More of us need to be trying to get rid of Google and its overbearing control over web traffic, not the other way around.

When you don't lock yourself inside of Google's funnel in the first place, they can't penalize you, that's the whole point. If you use methodologies (old or new) that bypass an overreliance on the SERPs, your traffic will be more stable, and you will be better off.

You missed my point. Your driving people to a thread from 2012. It is like buying milk but never putting it in the fridge. By saying don't rely on google do something like this and the "this" is something out dated, that does not work, has no value, and will just waste peoples time.

All that aside what I just quoted by you now does ad value, makes sense, and is worth people acting on.

Okay, noted. But, there are a lot of stickied threads on BHW that go back to 2010 or so. The basic approach of the cited thread is not obsolete, in my opinion. The mere date does not make an idea dated, the quality and later developments determine that. Identifying non search engine ways of finding targeted markets is not an outdated method, it's an alternative method to reach a niche audience.

By contrast, there are a lot of SEO methods that expose a Google weakness one month, that Google patches by the next month. That is where, and why most of the outdated ideas go down, because they are subject to Google changes. So, explore avenues not subject to Google changes, that's all I suggest.

Build whitehat and gain the $$$. I still haven't heard a good point for still going blackhat (atleast if you still wanna be secured for the next 2-3 years). Come at me.

DUDE! Even when you go full whitehat, there is no guarantee google won't penalize your site...

Go through the 200-ish page Google Webmaster Guidelines. It's a must-read for everyone who dares to say they work professional with SEO. The guidelines described there are essentialy what each algoritm change tries to closer reflect. (Google's own words btw). Of course you wont find any exact methods and the language used is quite cryptid and often complete bullshit. But if you try and follow those guidelines as close as you can, providing the "essential EAT", matching the search intet, doesn't try and manipulate anything(Including linkbuilding!!) there's no way you will get penalized. Yes, your competitors might be doing a better jo at following the guidelines and that will mean a new update might cause you to loose rankings, but getting deindexed doesn't happen to whitehat pages. I've managed well over 1.000 projects as Head of SEO for many, many years now, and I'm yet to see a 100% whitehat page get deindex/heavily penalized.

I've had sites that have never been deindexed as well as full whitehat sites that have been deindexed lol.

Want to share a link with me? I'll take everything back if I'm proven wrong.
