What confuses everyone about SEO is...

The reason for rankings dropping irrespective of regular efforts.

not so easy as I expected. have to work day and night to get bits and bits of traffic! :/

Silo structures and interlinking. Can you link between silos?

A bit of explanation: let’s say I have an investing site and set up 2 silos: investing strategies and financial instruments.

I write an article on bond trading strategies in the former and want to link to my article on bonds in the latter.

Will it weaken my silos if I do this?

Each category page was targeting a keyword.

Example.com/categories/anal
Title "Best Free Anal Porn"
And 500 words of unique content about anal porn. You can hide the text in an accordion or something so it's hidden.

Did you tried 'Tags' pages as well..??
Also, when you applied this strategy to add 500+ description to the specific category page, did you noticed any significant SERP movement..?? Did you build backlink to that specific category (example 'Blowjob') page or to the whole category page where you listed all the categories you have..??
I don't know if I succeeded to understand you what I'm trying to say .. :p

BTW, thanks for contributing to this thread. Always love to hear their thoughts and suggestions from my fellow adult-webmasters. :)

I'd really love to read that.

Slide into my DMs and you might get a taste.

No I used category pages, however I see no reason why you couldn't use tag pages instead of category pages, as long as you can add content on them. I purchased a premium adult theme and it had a "slot" for content below the videos on both category and tag pages luckily. So I added an accordion there with proper H2/H3 tags, content and so forth. I believe xhamster uses tag pages, if I remember correctly. And they rank well.

And yes, definitely an improvement having content. However with that said, the content was quite low quality as I couldn't find any high quality writers to write 50 damn articles about porn categories. (If you do, let me know) :D And I didn't want to write them myself either.

Yes, I'm quite sure that having a page with 0 words on it vs 500 words (or more), then 500 words will win/have an advantage. I honestly have no idea how I could ever rank a page without any content on it - I normally try to have 1500-2000 words or more on the money pages. Would need a hefty backlink budget without content on moneypage I believe. Or tons of supporting articles inner linking to the category page perhaps? Can't really say much about that, but that's what I'm testing at the moment (not tube sites though).

The good thing is that like, 99% of tube sites doesn't use any content (except videos obviously). Use it to your advantage and throw content on your tag pages. And perhaps create a blog on the tube too, just for adding some mass in terms of content on the site (and link from those blog posts to tag pages, I THINK that would help "boosting" the tag pages).

PS. This is just my opinions, I am absolutely by no means any "SEO professional", just based on my experiences.
