Hi Everyone,

Not really sure where to post this so I am sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section.

Today I have made a big step (hopefully a life changing step) and bought my domain and hosting package, I will be setting up the website in the coming days. I have been reading and watching so much content over the past few weeks and have pretty much got to the point where I just have a complete mental fog / block when it comes to ideas and what to do etc.

This is something I've always wanted to try and have now gotten to the point where I thought F*ck it just get on with it.

My plan in the coming weeks is to set up the website and make it SEO friendly using wordpress, I will then write as many blog posts I possibly can using affiliate links where possible. I am hoping to have 4-10 articles up and ready to go in the first week or two.

I will be using Amazon Associates to get started with as this is the program I am most comfortable / have the most understanding of, well at least I think I do. If anybody has other suggestions or ideas let me know!

At the same time time, I will be making social media accounts which I think will be relevant to my niche / topic. Once I have this set up I will then move onto building an email list, apparently this is one of the best ways to IM so will make this a priority and hopefully start capturing leads.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and if anybody has any sort of pointers / tips it would be greatly appreciated.

**I am also willing to write blog articles / posts for people as practice so if anybody needs any cheap articles let me know**

:)

Good luck with your website, your enthusiasm will carry you. Just remember, Amazon do a manual review after three qualified sales and may terminate. Build quality over quantity, Amazon or WordPress isn't going anyware so take your time and it will pay off later

Godspeed brother. The first site is always a massive learning experience. I don't know what your process has been so far but my recommendation is to put a lot of effort into keyword research otherwise all your writing might go to waste.

Best of luck!

A few tips:
A week or so after you've launched the website, post a press release announcing that you've launched.
With articles on your website, aim for 1000 words+ per article.
Consider posting 2500+ word buyer's guides (authority content improves rankings).
Use Yoast SEO plugin to ensure your On-Page SEO is right where it needs to be.

Cheers!

What do you mean by press release?

What do you mean by press release?
Press release is great for:
  • spreading your branding
  • diversifying your anchor text profile
  • diversifying link type
  • referral traffic

Yes, it's good for increasing diversity of backlink history and targeted traffic also for branding.

For more information, you may want to check out this article, as it sheds more light on what a press release is and how it works.

Hope that helps.

Best of excellence on your journey.

Best of luck man! The first site is the most exciting. Even if it fails, it is a learning experience.

Good luck with your new journey. Follow the above advice and I am sure you will do well in your first project. Don't aim for big goals now take it as a learning step. And you know where to write if you face any problem.

BTW where are you from? Do you have any prior experience in article writing? Just asking as you stated you are interested to write articles as well. Best of luck :-)

Just don't take a day off, stay on point at all times.

I took a day off then it quickly became a two weeks break, i lost my touch so I will have to get back in shape this week.

So please don't ever get comfortable when starting out, just go all out.

Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to everybody who has taken the time to reply, I didn't think anybody would even reply!

Thank you for the support, once I get more familiar with everything hopefully I will move onto better / higher commission affiliate programs. I will have a read up of Amazon's termination policy and make sure I don't do anything wrong!

Best of luck!

That's a really good idea, I will check the article out you posted, but from what I understand, you build hype on social media and get people to sign up to the email list from a capture page and then have a big launch?

good luck mate, keep updating your progress

Will do, I will use this as a thinking out loud tool!

Thank you for your words of encouragement, I am from the UK and have a good understanding of English. In my 9-5 I'm a manager of an office so are writing professionally well thought out emails to customers usually when there are problems. In terms of writing articles and blog posts I have no experience but my thinking was to try and practice / write articles for other people at the same time.

Good luck bro remember to buy me a beer when the money starts flowing

Thanks, will do!

Just remember things are very slow in the beginning, but stay focused and be tenacious.

Focus on value and building an audience that will see you as an authority in your niche not just another forgettable wordpress/Amazon website.

Thank you, that's my plan, I think my niche while quite broad can be very specific depending how / where I want to go with it. My ultimate end goal if somewhat realistic would be to build a community / exclusive forum around my niche, but we will see how things go for the first few months!

First update:

The hosting and domain have all been registered okay, I installed Wordpress and a few plugins which Wordpress suggested, there was a Yoast Seo plugin, Jetpack and Elementor among a couple of others.

I'm hoping to have a static landing page setup in the next 12 hours, if anybody has any guides or suggestions on this please fire away, I really am going into this blind but have read this is a good thing to do while I work on content for the website.

After this I will make some social media accounts that I think will be good for my website, once these are setup I will start posting and getting followers to my landing page, my thought process is that while I am building my website I can try and get a little hype for when I do launch. (thanks @PHPInjected for the advice of doing a press release)

Once I have done the above, I will further my keyword research to narrow done some articles / posts to do in the coming days.

If anybody has any sort of advice or pointers it would be much appreciated, I really am excited to see how this experiment pans out over the coming weeks, but I intend to have the website live before June, all being well.

Not a problem. Keyword research and On page seo is KEY before you even think about off page seo. Good luck my friend.
