BTC Comeback?

good point about google trends
maybe some institutional money/hedge funds finally started to take crypto more seriously

the good news is that even if this bull run stalls, we have established a floor of sorts for btc, eth, etc

re:tether ive always heard murmurings/skepticism about them since the beginning in their claim to back up usd

And what I say though is to look beyond all that. To forget about scandals, exchanges, use-cases, FUD, and FOMO. By analyzing the chart itself, you can often predict when the news will happen and if it will be good or bad. Sound impossible? I do it all the time. How is it possible? We live in a computer simulation.

Like ?? as far as i seen, Recent Binance Hack already got me thinking about this tech. If your investment is not safe, then it is not a wise choice to invest.

Facebook. I’m surprised no one has mentioned this. More details are emerging every week about Facebook’s crypto payment system, which will be used in the two most popular messaging apps in the world, both generating more interest, understanding, and less fear of crypto in general, as well as providing people an easy on-ramp to other cryptos. The crypto-specific forums are buzzing about this. Hodl until Fbcoin launches.

Also, Binance is just an exchange, a pass-through vehicle. Don’t hold assets on there for significant periods of time. Keep your assets in cold storage and you can be as safe as you want to be. Binance was probably an internal job, not a signal of crypto exchanges’ cybersecurity weakness.

There's a big scandal brewing with Tether it seems. This could be a manipulation ploy. Or it could be legit. So stay nimble and be ready to jump off if it suddenly flips.

re:tether ive always heard murmurings/skepticism about them since the beginning in their claim to back up usd

Yeah Tether’s isn’t fully backed by fiat. Their collateralization model includes non-cash assets (‘cash equivalents’) like loans and possibly other assets (maybe even crypto). They even changed their website to reflect this: they used to claim that they were fully backed by USD, but now:
100% Backed
Every tether is always 100% backed by our reserves, which include traditional currency and cash equivalents and, from time to time, may include other assets and receivables from loans made by Tether to third parties, which may include affiliated entities (collectively, “reserves”). Every tether is also 1-to-1 pegged to the dollar, so 1 USD₮ is always valued by Tether at 1 USD.

Use decentralized stablecoins like Dai and Reserve; they are almost guaranteed to tether to the US dollar and they don’t require trust in any institution (which is why crypto was started in the first place)

I won't trust btc again till it hit 10k

It will. Why did you lose trust to begin with? It has never stopped its uptrend. It's a logarithm. This is what I keep trying to explain to people. It's counter-intuitive, sure but if you take the time to learn some extra maths, you will see. Bitcoin has never stopped going up.

I love bitcoin but we need a lot of trust again so we can get the attention of the average Joe to buy it. Idk correct me if i'm wrong but I think we need a big positive news to hit the 20k again

So, I will correct you a bit. There are theories involved here. I will post them for you...

Theory 1: News (Good or bad) drives the market and there is no way to predict the news. This is the fundamentals way of considering the market.
Theory 2: The markets are governed by algorithms and people. People are governed by laws of nature. Through technical analysis, we can predict when good or bad news will happen before it happens. How? The market follows certain trends and patterns that are predictive in nature. This theory negates (Or rather, preempts) the first theory or its causality.

I would also refer you to the fractal market theory. Bitcoin is largely not an efficient market and the efficient market theory is crap, for the most part. So what about Bitcoin's trend? Bitcoin is on a logarithmic trajectory. This means that if you look at a normal chart, you will see Bitcoin going up to 20k and then going way down. If you look on a logarithmic chart instead, you will see Bitcoin going up and then having a normal correction which it should obviously keep climbing from. Thus, Bitcoin's trend is a logarithmic trend. On any good charting platform (Like TradingView) you can turn on Logarithmic mode in the bottom right of the chart. It's best to use Log on the day, week, month charts.

Does Bitcoin need news to head back to those highs? You might say that but I would say that the news is inevitable, pre-ordained so to speak. I'm proven right about this mode of thinking time and time again. Bitcoin doesn't necessarily need a bunch of traders like us or stores adopting. The current hypothesis for a runaway Bitcoin price is that upon reaching or exceeding its previous highs, we will see a massive shift of funds from things like Gold, Silver, bonds, etc to Bitcoin.

Anyone in the know with XRP or have any predictions/thoughts?

Thanks for the infos:) do u daytrade bitcoin?

I have a lot of thoughts about it. I know someone who used to work for Ripple. XRP is not Ripple. I don't think banks and whatnot are actually using market-priced XRP to transfer funds. This is the problem. I tend to price XRP at around 40 cents. I believe it will have a hard time sustaining any big uptrend. I could always be proven wrong but when it ran to like $2 or whatever it was, I knew it was going back to 40 cents and I shorted it.

Cryptocurrency will always be volatile, nobody can see the future.

Take absolutely everything that you read here with a grain of salt - otherwise, you might find yourself in too deep in something you know very little about

Think crypto in general will, make a comeback. Now the crypto have settle and lots of the shitty ICO´s are gone, so hopeful they will rise with a stady rate, and not explode and burst again.

Yeah, a bit. I study the markets a lot. I'm also very careful and I tend to only jump in when I know it's nearly a sure thing.

I wouldn't say that it will always be volatile. It will increase efficiency, not decrease. It could increase volatility in the short-term but long-term I think everything tends towards efficiency. That's just sort of the underlying nature of markets. Of course everyone should scrutinize everything they hear.
