Experiment going viral!

Yes, I am not reviewing or speaking in it. All I'm doing is re-editing the videos in a way that is more efficient and better for the viewers and they all love me and thank me for it as I'm getting 300,000 views now in just a couple weeks with thousands of comments, likes and the majority of commenters appreciate and love my work as it saves them a ton of grief and time since I'm making it more efficient.

I do understand that this may still be "reused content" and may not be approved for monetization when I reach the eligibility threshold in the next few days. I'm almost there
and I just started uploading these videos a couple weeks ago. My question is not about whether what I am doing is monetizable or not. I don't care. It's an EXPERIMENT.

I just want to know if I try to monetize it using the same personal information that is linked to my main youtube account, if that could get me suspended or de-monetized on my MAIN account which has nothing to do with this experiment account. If they want to copyright strike my experiment channel, NO PROBLEM. My life will go on and I can make many more experiments. They certainly shouldn't ban or suspend my channel because it's nothing but simply re-editing material in my own way to make it more efficient so if anything, the worst is that I can't be monetized but the channel and my videos can stay up and keep getting views.

That's why I'm asking, should I try and set up a patreon or business paypal account to get paid if anyone wanted to sponsor or donate to me for my work even though Youtube (if) declines partnership due to "reused content".

If I have 3 or 4 youtube channels all linked to the same personal information for payout, and let's say one of the channels gets de-monetized for copyright/reused content, does that risk ALL my channels via guilty by association?
Nothing wrong in trying. Nothing wrong in linking your normal adsense account. Even if they dont approve you, its got nothing to do with your other channels or adsense. The only thing that can affect your adsense is a terminated channel that was linked to it. But even then ive had terminated channels linked to same adsense and my other channels still stands and still monetise.
I just avoid using google chrome for anything youtube. thats all.

I should also add that even if your channel doesn't get approved for monetization, you should entertain the idea of building up a few more thousand subs then creating your own original content.

Anyone hoping to make quick bucks if you already have a monetised channel, just do TRENDING topics. Thats about as fastest as you can get to making quick bucks. Nice edititng on trending topics. These days its important to speak / commentary otherwise if its just a bunch of random videos you may get demonetised,/ may not be approved for moentisation.

By trending topics, do you mean what's popular on the YouTube trending tab or on Google (similar usually). It's weird because I've tried doing various trending topic videos but they almost never get any views no matter how well edited or how good the commentary is, and then I have to resort to promoting it myself on Reddit etc.

Interesting thread, where do you get the video from. If the guy you're copying from has 1m+ subs then beware, then can FIND YOU and ...

I think you're absolutely right about YouTube/Streaming and the internet, in general, being the gold rush of our era. It's definitely possible to make a great deal of money with very little skill as long as you can create a following which seems to be the hardest thing to do at the moment for me. I have some decent videos that try to emulate what other popular creators are doing in a niche that isn't very saturated, but I'm having a lot of difficulties getting recommended on YouTube which is I was definitely motivated by your story getting so many views and subs in a short period of time.

You may already know this but having a very good thumbnail photo using a few keywords that stand out on that thumbnail can really drive a lot of views. Make a good thumbnail for your videos and try to use the most searched terms or words that would get your video found or ranked higher (along with tags). Like trying to get a fire started, you need to try and spark a few flames here and there and hope that one of them will turn into a wildfire and go crazy (let other people do the work for you when they start sharing it on their pages, sites, social media, etc.).

Yeah I know about how important thumbnails are, but my main problem seems to be niche related and your experiment shows how possible it is.

Fully agreed! On my main channel, I basically do commentary on "trending" things on youtube and I have found that those videos get instant views and more views than say a general video that I wanted to make out of my own interest. The problem is oversaturation. Everyone is doing it now. Everyone is making videos and the market is oversaturated with videos....wait until A.I. goes full blown and they will oversaturate the market and completely create a change in the entire system. So if there's a hot trending topic, ride that wave and make a video about it and see your video get at least a couple thousand views within a few days. It may die off completely after when the issue is no longer relevant or "hot". I have some videos like that where it got 3-4k views within a few days but after the issue went away or society quickly got bored of it, it only gets like 2 views a week.

There are video ideas that will always be relevant (ie. how to find your true love, how to lose weight and get fit, how to become rich)...these kinds of things do not require trendy issues or times...these are staples in human nature and people will always be searching for these kinds of things whether it is "hot" or "not" issue in the media.

Then there are the kinds of videos based on the trends. Let's say someone famous was caught in scandal. That topic will be very hot for a few days and you can make a video about it and gets thousands of views easily. But that same video will quickly become irrelevant and cold once enough time has passed and people no longer care about that scandal and 20 new scandals have buried in the pile below. Now you might be lucky to get 1 or 2 views a week on that video.

So it depends on what your style is....but whichever you choose, do a bit of homework and go for it!

Well here's an example from my experiment channel. The first video of my experiment is the one that went viral like crazy....it went from 20-30k views and suddenly in just a week it is now up to 350k views. But my videos following that one have not hit the same viral status (yet)....they've been out almost as long now and are only at around 60k, 35k, 10k, 8k respectively (still good considering only just a couple weeks to a few days) but as you can see, no cookie-cutter solution that guarantees success equally across the board even if they are the exact same videos in the same niche using the same techniques with similar titles and thumbnails. Why did one of my videos go viral and the others at a slower pace? The answer to me is that someone or many people shared my video somewhere that caught many more eyes and hence went viral. It's just sometimes the luck of the draw until you actually get tons of subscribers will be notified of your channel each time you upload.

I'm still monitoring the experiment channel and it is growing fast (what I would consider fast for my level). The experiment channel now has 10k subs already lol. My main account has only 3.5k and I've had it for over 10 years lol.

Weren’t you only at 3k only a few days ago? That is pretty insane growth in any case.

Interesting thread, where do you get the video from. If the guy you're copying from has 1m+ subs then beware, then can FIND YOU and ...

Agreed. Fortunately the original creators do not have that many subs but they do have a between 30k - 150 k subs. Yes, anyone could easily find my viral video and possibly report to the original creator and say this dude is re-editing your videos and he's getting more views than your actual own videos LOL.

The thing is, the original creators have not copyrighted their content. If they did, my videos should have already been copyrighted but since they are not, it means that the youtube algorithim does not pick up their voice or video as copyright protected property. Now, if I am able to get monetized from it and earn a few quick bucks and then the original creator finds out and contacts me via message and tells me to takedown the video (or reports it to youtube) then of course I'd take it down. I'm just wondering why the original creator would not copyright their own content to protect it from being reused by someone else if they had a better idea or more efficient use for it.

In fact, I could even suggest to the original creators that my ideas of their content is better than any of their own ideas and I could essentially help them grow their channel or brand better than if they did it themselves. Perhaps some financial compensation could be agreed upon for me helping them get so much recognition.

What I'm trying to get at is, many content creators out there put content out there, but it doesn't mean it's good content. I have this knack for taking their raw resources and turning into something better. Why couldn't this be possible? Is it my fault that the creators only have the raw goods but don't have the ability to refine it to make a better product?

It's like somebody owns a million trees and knows nothing about how to use them. Then I come in and tell them I can create desks, tables, chairs, etc. with your wood.
Same with anything else...you have ores, rare earth metals, diamonds, but don't have the tools to extract them. I don't have the raw goods, but I have the tools to extract them and make them worth 1000x more valuable than if it were just sitting in the ground. That's how I see it anyway.

Yes you are right. It was only 3k a few days ago and already 10k now....i'm still amazed at how it's growing and I hope I can continue this experiment long enough to get some quick cash. That cash would help me invest and start more experiments. If I get rejected or my experiment gets shut down, well, then at least it was experience gained and surely that has value in itself, too.

Rather than taking other's 'not so good work' as you put it, and making it better. Why don't you CREATE your own work. Its called being creative. Taking someone elses work is not creativity, its literally stealing from them. Not saying you shouldn't do whatever you want, but creating your own idea, and making it better will earn you a rightful monetisation and more subs more views as well. Do you get what I mean?
Whoever you are taking from right now, whether you like it or not Will find you, will report your videos, and your channel will be terminated. Maybe not now but someday.
What's the point then? Thats why youtube wants everyone who wants to earn money to CREATE their own work, their own idea. D
Even for anyone wanting to go 'trending topics' route, you can always get an idea somewhere but create your own style, your own work, not copy or steal from someone else cause all it does it earn you a ban sometime or never able to monetise such content which is a gigantic waste of time!

I understand your sentiment and generally I would agree that encouraging people to create their own content is important, but there IS a need for what I am doing...maybe not exactly in this way but what I'm doing is essentially what has been going on since the dawn of mankind. No one person has all the skills and know-how to do everything on their own. Someone will plant the seeds, another will water it, and another may harvest it, another will convert it into many different uses, and lastly another may dispose of it or recycle it. I'm not really the kind of person to just create my own video content. My skill and talent is taking raw materials and refining it. That's what I'm good at. I do this in everything in life. I see what others have done, I improve upon it or "add" to it. Where it gets confusing and blurry is "who should get credit?"

If an actor performs his/her duty in a movie well by delivering all the lines and then some, but it was screenplay writer that put the words in the mouth of the actor, but then it was the director who guided the actors/movie, in the end, who gets credit for creating the movie? In most youtube videos out there, you'll see people taking content and clips they didn't create themselves but they add commentary, analysis, and some minor special effects, sounds, editing, etc but it seems they get all the praise for making such great videos. I don't know how great their videos would be if you took away all the videos in their videos they basically just used (with or without permission) from the original source. In my case, the only issue people should have with it is that I didn't ask for permission to use their content, nor as the content creator copyrighted their content. They didn't neither say yes or no to me using their content. If it's there to be used and it's not copyrighted, I will use it until it becomes copyrighted or I get told to take it down. I do agree that this most likely won't get monetized OR if it does, last that long....if it keeps getting bigger, I'm sure it will run into some copyright issue down the line, but enough people in this world tell you "no", so why be the first person to tell yourself "no"? There are also a lot of content you ARE ALLOWED to use from other content creators because they have put it under a "creative commons" license. There are a lot of ways to make videos from creative commons sources and stitch together your own video like a TOP TEN (something) and get full credit for the video you make using these creative commons videos. It's not that there is no such thing as being allowed to use other creators content. A lot of creators out there make content to be shared and used by others with no copyright intended purposes. This idea that we are just "ripping" or "stealing" other people's content is just overblown. If you think about it, humanity itself is built upon and based on plagiarism (building off of another's work, or using them as stepping stones, or something you are all using that is not your own original creation, therefore you are ripping it off). Here's a little joke: There’s a scientist and God. And the scientist challenges God to a contest of who can make the better human being. God tells him that he’s on, at which time the scientist, in great delight, bends over to pick up some dirt to make his human being. Then God says, ‘No, …get your own dirt.’

We can create, yes, but nothing we create is completely original. The shady line is "how much of it did I alter or edit enough for it to be considered my own content"....to me, that's just fancy wording dancing around the issue. I really like talking about these kinds of things though....it's great to discuss and wish there was a "think group" that existed for me to share ideas and talk about some of these things.....ideas change the world, imagination is more important than knowledge - einstein.

I read all the above. What you are doing is good, but on youtube you are asking for strikes. I know what im talking about. The more views you have, the more haters will come out of the woodwork, they will, out of jealousy report your videos to the original creators and your videos will get taken down. You can make a living out of what you are doing, just not on youtube. And a creator does not have to copyright his work to get his work taken down on youtube.
I have had a channel where some clown literally mass downloaded all my videos and reposted them using same channel name (creeps, yea). I reported him and it only took me reporting 3 videos to get the channel terminated. Not that i copyrighted my videos but they were my own work. I edited them.
Youtube is now even stricter on copyright , reused contents and repetitive contents now. Once a channel is disabled, its hard to get it back now. Youtube now rejects counter claims. Its gone to the dogs.
Its your choice, keep doing what you are doing if it brings you joy on youtube, however keep in mind that someday, those videos will be taken down and the channel will be terminated.
On the side, you could maybe do something around non youtube videos, find videos on the worldwide web and make something from it...that might be better

I fully agree with you. That's why it's an 'experiment' and was asking my question in the very first post. I was asking if I could link this experiment channel to my adsense account (which is linked to my main youtube channel) and not worry about being "guilty by association" if my experiment channel got suspended or shut down. Would they then trace it and shut down every account that is linked to the same adsense? Possibly, or maybe not.

I know exactly what you said. Yes, the more views it gets, the more likely someone will report it or the original content creator might want it taken down, but then again, maybe they won't. Maybe they will appreciate what I'm doing and want my help to grow their channel/brand? You never know? I don't have a problem of it being taken down. I just don't want it to take down everything else (like a domino effect). It's just an experiment channel. I could care less of it gets shut down or taken down. I just don't know if linking it to my adsense account would risk all the other things linked to my google adsense from getting taken down, too.

You never know until you try right? I'll keep this topic updated as soon as I find out if youtube approved or rejected my application to monetize the videos. I should also note that views count seems to have dropped off now....the viral stage seems to have passed as it is still getting views but no anywhere near the pace it was growing at a few days ago. It seems to have plateau'd at the 300,000 mark.

Remember the rule. 1 channel - 1 adsens.
Register on the parents, wife or yourself, if you don't have an English name. This also works

What if you have over 20 channels? You think its that easy to have 1 channel 1 adsense for that? I dont see why you cant have as many channels as you want on an adsense, if you are not doing anything wrong and your videos are clean

For sure, keep going. The worst that could happen is youtube rejects your application, and if they reject it, you have nothing to worry about with regards to linking it to your adsense. If they approve you, yea, it may cause a problem if the channel ever gets suspended, but then Ive had channels suspended linked to same adsense as others that are still working, so you never know. I honestly. dont know how that part works. I think what causes problem is if the adsense gmail is the same as the youtube acc that gets suspended. Then both and all will be a goner. Thats why i always use a separate gmail acc for my adsense, then link whatever channels (all different gmails) I want to it externally
