The theory that is circulating on telegram is that something big is about to happen where people would want to withdraw BTC quickly and in large volumes. Then the above exchange would have blocked withdrawals for 7 days while they "fix" this robbery issue.

This twitter account you cited above has gotten some stuff right but has also published a lot of FUD that didn't confirm itself.

So best thing to do is gather several opinions and arrive at your own conclusions about this. I don't think the next week chaos scenario will happen. I think Binance was really hacked this time.

I know Bitfinexed posts a lot of fud but they have some facts as well..

The thing is the explination they provided for the hack does not add up with the actual withdraw they posted which came directly from the hot wallet.
Also if 7000 BTC were missing/withdrawn from Traders/Users accounts through their API`s wouldnt you think that some of them would open reddit posts or complain somewhere that their funds are missing ?
On the other hand if they got access to their hot wallet wouldnt they withdraw bigger amounts ? why only 7K btc ?

+ the last month BNB pump just adds up to the susspision that all of this is more likly staged than true..

The whole "we`ve been hacked" thing just looks to sketcy and timed to be true..

But as you said we can only assume and its to bad that all of these BIG excahnges can not be audited internaly / or have a proper investigation because for most of them their location and offices is unknown or in juristictions where they are allowed to get away with hack claims like this without any proper investigations and the only information source is what the excahnge tells you.
