Instagram Removes Likes/Views

Instagram just Removed Likes/Views on selected accounts in Canada, I was one of them which is how I noticed.

If this update stays in affect, you will be the only one to see how many likes you get.

What are your thoughts on this?

The spokesperson described the trial as exploratory and noted that Instagram doesn't always roll out features it tests.

I don't think it will be a permanent feature as everyone is going to hate it. I also think it will severely cut down on people liking posts because what's the point if it isn't even visible.

Still hasn't been implemented over here.... I'm mixed on this decision to be honest

I did like a comment that said it should be an option you can choose to implement on your settings

It's more of a psychology thing, more people will not like the photo if they aren't getting recognized for it or feel they are contributing to something that everyone can see.

Instagram claims the change will encourage more quality content. Glad I'm not a "social shares" provider.

So they should remove "like" option in that case. Hiding number of likes but leaving option to like is pointless. And instagram popularity will drop after that, at least 90% are just posting their daily life looking for society approval(in digital form, those are likes). It's not like i care about them, but it's a stupid move.

They made some updates to it, still active for some Canadian users....

Instagram is one of my favorite social media platforms. I like it far better than Facebook and Twitter. I don't think that they should change the current format. It is better this way. I hope that this was just a failed trial. What is your favorite social media platform?
