Hi to all the BHW family.

I have two channels on YT, both were monetized.

Every two days I uploaded at least one video on each channel and visits did not exceed 700 per day and at most two or three new subscribers came to each channel.

I did this for more than TWO YEARS, reaching to have more than 250 videos in each channel, an average of 2k subscribers per channel, and a miserable average of 700 daily visits per channel.

One day without any warning and without any explanation, YT took away the monetization and as a result I stopped uploading videos to both channels, because I was uploading videos just to make money.

This happen no more than 1 month ago and It's funny that after the monetization was taken away and after I stopped uploading videos, the visits skyrocketed and now I receive an average of 6k+ daily visits per channel and more than 80+ new daily subscribers per channel.

What does YT play?, why is that?

For me, it is a clear sign that YT is not interested in paying the fair and steals from all content creators.

I would like to read other opinions because I really can't understand why is this happening.

It depends on the topic of the videos. Lately, certain subjects are not worth monetizing. Youtube is under great pressure to censor certain contents.

What kind of content did you post and what is specified as the reason when you open the monetization tab?

Recently yt has become more strict on what kind of content is monetizable.

I suppose you are in the compilations niche? The same thing happened to alot of channels in the compilations niche (mine with 250k subscribers included) - Basically the network that works with me, all the channels have been demonetized and there were some huge ones in there. Some with over 1m subscribers. It is definetely a big hit for all the channel owners that basically made a living with this. I suppose that there will be something in the future that we can somehow get our monetization back (through licensing etc.) - You should get in contact with a network in your niche that has some of these problems as well. They might have a chance to help you.

About the Skyrocketing of views etc. - I wouldn't say that this has something to do with Youtube, after all they disabled monetzation for you and if i am not mistaken, if they do not monetize your account + no copyright claim on the video = There is no money involved for them as well. Interesting theory though.

Don’t post streamers content with out permission n u will get ya montization back

What are the source of those new views ? Search or recommended ?

The source of those views are organic.

I'm not worried about demonetization. What makes me curious is the sudden increase in visits and subscribers, right after YT deactivated monetization.

This is normal for YouTube. You aren't first.

I know demonetization is normal and that's not what I'm interested in.

It's not demonetization that worries me.

Well, I have another theory. What I think is that those were always the visits and the real subscribers of the channel. Now that YT does not have to pay for these visits, they are not worried about showing the real figures. In fact, I bet that if monetization were activated again, "mysteriously" visits and subscribers would disappear again.

As I've already mentioned, it's not demonetization that worries me.

In my opinion it's just algorithm luck. Haven't you ever seen random ass videos trending in your country? sometimes some dude recording something dumb on low res gets trending, that is just luck.

The theory of your channel being shadowbanned could also be possible... it's really random. I was lossing subs recently and managed to get back on a good track, youtube is promoting a video which at the first week topped on views, then the algorithm 5 days after upload or so somehow picked it up again and is suggesting it. In YT if your videos don't get suggested I think you are fucked... basically 80% of my traffic is suggested and most people ive talked too say their most % is from suggested videos too.

If you want to know why your views increased all of a sudden check the backlinks for that video. It is possible a worthy domain or several domains used that video, which translates into a backlink.

It happens to a lot of people including me, views increase when you stop posting for a while. Can't figure it out myself. I don't think its got anything to do with monetisation. It happens eitherway

But what kind of luck can it be, that visits and subscribers start arriving, right now that YT no longer pays me anything for it?

I already did that check and there is no noticeable increase in backlinks in any of the videos. The majority of visitors come from the same YT.

But it's funny that it happens just when YT doesn't have to pay for those visits anymore.

maybe they disable it for re uploading others videos or something what did they told you?

I think it is due to the content of your videos. what is at least the category of your content?

if you cant get it monetized
promote something
