Is it really okay to feel demotivated & depressed from time to time?

Just now after whole day of sitting in front of the laptop trying to work on my plan, I went out to the ATM to get some cash. As I was going there was this cold wind and I was really feeling fresh and I was walking and thinking - what am I doing? I don't go out. I am constantly working on my plan and trying to make a LIFE online. I was standing in the ATM line where a cute girl was already there and she was like my age and I was like daamn...these girls are going out with guys of my age and I still not able to fulfill my ambition.

So, do you ever get demotivated and feel depressed? What do you do to QUICKLY get out of that depressing and demotivating mindzone? Because the longer your mind is in that zone, the longer u won't feel refreshed. What is your personal experience on this?

I definitely feel you, man.

One thing that has definitely helped me is weightlifting. For me, it kinda whisks away the whole depressed/demotivated feeling, and sometimes after workouts I feel like the entire world is mine and I can do ANYTHING. And heck, you don't even need the gym for this. For instance, I started out with a backpack filled with rocks and a pull-up bar at home just because I had no money for a gym subscription, and then transitioned to improvised workouts out in the woods where I was deadlifting rocks, squatting with heavy branches and stuff, and pulling up to trees.

That said, I still do feel depressed occasionally, especially - like you said - when I don't go out for a longer period of time. So that's what I'm working on at this point - trying to go out as much as possible. The issue here, though, is that it usually costs money. That's no bueno for me at this point in my life, as I'm trying to save as much as possible to invest wherever I see a good opportunity. So it's a dilemma.

Those thoughts come to me too, and I'm sure plenty of us who work online feel like that from time to time

Gym definitely helps get my mood up, I take a preworkout before going and sometimes meet up with a friend.

Make sure to sleep enough, when I started my sleep schedule was horrible and I'd be up all night working. Take some melatonin to regulate your sleep and try waking up early

Of course, I do feel the same, every day since 10 years ago.

I chose not to continue my studies right after finishing the military service 3 years ago (every male citizens have to serve here) and it is very depressing to see my schoolmates graduating university one by one, while I don't even have a diploma with me.

When at work, I keep telling myself that I want to be like this guy and that girl and that lady. The people that come to my place are usually about the rank of higher managers and directors/engineers. Keep noticing their rolex watches and it really motivates me.

I trust my choice, and every day I can see myself getting closer and closer to the dream that I am chasing for.

Think about it this way: that cute girl that goes out now with all the 'boys' other macho boys most likely will end up hating her job, single and with kids. And if everything goes to the plan, all your work will pay off in the end, you will become financial independent and will be able to do everything as you please, going on multiple months vacations and overall enjoying the life to the most when you have enough money. All the younger girls (and that cute girl with the child) will keep chasing after you. Depends on your goals though!

Yeah gym is it. Do something physically tough, release some endorphins. It's tough working on something constantly and maybe not getting a payoff like you would with a job etc for weeks/months, IMO it just makes it more worthwhile.

Getting shitfaced every now and then to let the steam off helps too if I'm being honest

Yes some times it coming when you see no results from your work or you don't have any work it will pass if you work harder i think

Yeah man i feel you. I am not into IM anymore but have my goals of course.. for example i was in a shopping store recently with my friends.. many cute girls out there and on the other side there i am looking like a fucking loser. Even though i am good with money atm still need to work on self development.. so.. not easy and these things pulling me down sometimes

Yeah man. Everyone gets it. I have a full time job, a big family and I am trying to get IM set up to leave my day job to spend my time at home, but at the minute I am losing out on a lot of time with my family. It gets me down. I feel like fucking it all off, going back to only doing my day job and enjoying my family.

The way I deal with it is by keep reminding myself what I want. Do I want to be in the same job at 70 years old? Or do I want to be able to work at home while my kids are at school, then go on holiday every school holiday they get?

I will get 10x more time with them if (WHEN) I get my IM career fully running.

My advice is to not lock yourself away just working working working. find something that takes you away from your work from time to time.

Make time for your friends, family, cat, dog hobby of lego or whatever. Keep at the work. It will get better.

Do you have another job, be it part time or are you purely doing IM?

Why are you not able to fulfil your ambition? Not everyone is motivated by the size of your wallet. Ask a girl out and get to know her. You can't afford a restaurant or clubbing, then invite her to yours and cook for her.

Couldn't have said it better.

Whether you are a newbie or a veteran, there are times when demotivation or even depression kicks in. Follow 'stuffedegg' advice, he is spot on.

Rocks can be uneven weights, it can suddenly be problematic because in one hand u are feeling more pressure and the other hand u are feeling less?

And yes I have to consider gym. I have seen people going gym to clear their mind and I heard it can make us have clear focus?

So u go to the gym at morning? When u get to work after returning home?

Yeah that is true. I also need to develop some confidence. I currently lack it due to my constant work. Girls love a toned body with a good wallet and I wouldn't mind spoiling them once I reach that stage where spending a couple of bucks a day behind them wouldn't make me have second thoughts. :D

Financial stabilization is my main target right now.

Thing is confidence matters and I lack confidence. I am not unfit and unhealthy with a big gut and lose out of shape body like those other guys that these girls are dating. I do have an average normal body but I lack confidence and the reason is not able to fulfill my ambition. But yes, I need to work on it.

It will happen only when your plans are not working. When you get things going out righthyl, your mind will be occupied with it most of the time.

Gym definately helps with focus and clear my mind. Routine is wake up, brush teeth, take preworkout and hit gym.

After workout go in gym sauna, go home, protein shake.

This is when my mind is 100% focused. Get my work done, eat, keep working till lunch.

After lunch wrap up work, get stuff ready for tomorrow. Eat dinner and shut off phone / computer. Take melatonin (half Benadryl if I can't sleep) and supplement pills.

Sometime I wake up and work right away then hit the gym. But gym really does clear my mind and get things in order.

Also write down your tasks. Doing the same thing everyday gets to you so when you feel like you're going crazy working all the time unwind doing whatever. Have a drink, smoke some weed, do whatever.

Then right back into the grind.

i have been lately, as my income is slowly getting surpassed by my fellows friends as im still stuck in school, and working a part time security job for fukin peanuts and dumping everything into my site.

also i still live in my parents basement.. which super sucks.. not the best for ye ladies:D
but typically when i get down in the dumps and lose motivation, i just pop an adderall and push on. pretty easy fix for me :)

Thanks for Melatonin advice. Will buy it tomorrow. I stay until 6 AM then sleep until 3 PM, I can't fix it... Will try this.

I also have BIG problems with sleep routine. I need 8h in order to be 100% efficient. I usually do 6-7 but I always feel that I am not giving 100%.

Sometimes I think to get stuff to help me sleep, but I always think that they will have side-effects on other stuff.
