Facebook Groups Finally Getting a Makeover [Hard to make viral group again]

What has changed? I was just considering working with Facebook groups.

I wrote about it few days ago ( they had some 10-15 minutes test ) - http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/facebook/128559-facebook-converting-groups-pages.html

If it stays like this ( wall posts doesn't show on members home pages ) it's not good. If they add that option, I'm gonna be rich soon :)

but it's great for wall posting spam. Every spam post is now viewable as soon as someone come to the group, no need for scrolling down

Because the wall post feed works like the regular news feed... :D Just get multiple accounts to like and comment on a post you want to stick at the top.

yeh i just noticed this myself, just checked my groups and are now pages.. wtf???

They're not pages as your posts won't show in members feeds. This is only good for wall spamming and to keep groups active as posts made by friends that are members of same group will show in people's news feeds

We should start bombing Facebook with feedbacks asking them to add admins posts to members news feeds. It would be the cash machine for those of us that lot of groups or big groups

Otherwise, it's pretty bad as group description and recent news are completely marginalized so we can't have our links on the visible place as before. Now other spammers will enjoy on that

yeh i know that. i was just saying lol.. why make it like a fan page if you cant use like a fan page. it just dont make sense. and yeh i think we should bombard them.. already got a group going in protest lol

I'm scoured the options under groups and I can't seem to find a way to disable the wall. How exactly do you do it?

Edit group settings / uncheck Non-Admins can post to the wall

But it's leaking somehow. On one of my groups few wall posts from members appeared even if i disabled them to write on the wall

Ah, I tried that but I ended up with the same problem. It's especially annoying on the group I have 500k members in.

LeDave, it's leaking sometimes even if all wall posts are deleted before blocking non-admins to write wall posts. It's confirmed, I noticed that on few groups I admin.

LeDave: I did a little test this morning and created a brand new group. During creation, I unticked 'allow non-admins to post on the wall.' I then joined on another FB account and tried posting on the wall and it did post on the wall. Hate to say it mate, but it looks like disabling the wall doesn't work.

LeDave, I'm still not monetizing Facebook. I've sold few groups and had luck with one group ( earned 250$ in a day before it get banned (but can't replicate that, it was a luck lol) and this month I earned some 600$ on Facebook.

I have probably 2 millions of members accumulated in all my groups and most of them can get my messages but I am not pretty experienced in spamming so I don't know what to promote to them lol.

I'm not sure about CPA accounts but I do know that intensive messaging can get you banned on Facebook.

I thought I'd share how I've basically gotten around the fact that descriptions were moved. Instead of using just descriptions (I actually use recent news because the editor for the group description is bugged. gg Facebook) I started to use the little 'write something about this group' field below the gorup image you get to use. Right now I'm doing split tests seeing if "Look at the description for whatever" or if "Do blah blah blah" works best.

The point is that description is not on the top place anymore so it barely can be used for any kind of promotion. Before this change, we can do all our job using only description.

i cant disabled mine...

i hate the new look.. my sales went down

You have to be able to do that technically ( except leaking ). Go to edit group settings, uncheck non-admins can write to the wall. But leaking is the problem
