Hey I read a lot about link building with scrapebox where a lot of people say you can only use it for tier 3 since its blog comment spam.

I am wondering if someone has an approach to actually use it for link building for their main website and how your process is.

Don't do it! I have scrapebox, but I never tried to build links with it. The links will be of shittiest quality and useless, if you manage to get some links sticked.

SB is a treasure if you know how you should use it. Yes, you can use even to build link on Tier 1. for example, you can scrape quality website in your niche and make genuine participation by commenting. You can also use the tool to find guest post opportunity by doing blog outreach. The tool can help you to scrape any type of data, you are in need of. It's all upto you how you want to use it.

Thanks for replying. How do you make sure that you only get the "quality websites"?
I struggle with setting the right language for the scraper so I only get results in German. But when I scrape I get them for all languages.

Sure, you just have to know what your doing. The problem is people tend to approach things backwards.

You don't want to ask, can I build links with scrapebox.

Scrapebox is an automation tool, and it only automates what you can do manually.

What you want to do is develop a manual process for building great links, then you come and say "This is what I want to do, cause it works, and its great, how can I do this with scrapebox?"

Then you are approaching it from how scrapebox can help you automate what already works.

No offense to above posters, but when someone says "don't do it. I have never done it but I heard its bad" or "you will get a penalty" thats poor advice. What you should do is have test sites and test all sorts of stuff.

Whenever someone tells me not to do something, thats exactly what I do. now don't go testing it on your money site home page, be smart, but do test.

Also in 9+ years of scrapebox I have never heard of someone getting a penalty. If it were really that easy to get a manual penalty and pummel a website from the ranks, don't you think Everyone would just buy scrapebox and use it against their competitors and get all their competitors penalized and then float to the top naturally? Google can't have that, it would destroy their results.

So just remember scrapebox is the swiss army knife of SEO it is not a link building tool. Loads of people think scrapebox is a blog commenting tool, its not. It does do blog comments, but it wasn't designed with that in mind and thats like .0001% of what it can do. You can strap a couch to the top of a car and haul it across town, I mean you can, but thats not what a car is designed for and thats probably not its best use and its not what most people use it for.

Strapping a couch to a car and hauling it is akin to scrapebox building links, yeah it can build links but thats not its best use and not what most people use it for.

Here is a video that will get you going with some theory on how to build top notch links. Your not using scrapebox to directly build the link, but to quantify loads of potential links sources down to the ones that you can then go and chase down manually or hire someone to do cheap etc..

Think outside the box - for $100 you can't get a better tool out there.

Hey Loopline, can scrapbox help search the source code of websites for certain terms eg whether the links are d0f0ll0w or not? If so, can you please direct me to the tutorial?

Also, I remember BHW members can get a discount on it? Where can I find the discount?

Thank you!

Good to index tier 1 links with low outbound link blog comments.

If you know a link on the page you can use the ******** test addon to determine that.

Also if you just want to scan the html of a list of urls and see if it matches certain strings/things you can use the page scanner addon.

But you can't search for html tags in google or any search engine so you have to search randomly and then scan them with scrapebox.

My advice is to go trough the tutorials which are out there , start with those which are linked already in this thread.
I personally am still learning how to get the best out of the scrapebox.

Note. You will need to buy a porxy service as well since the proxies which are availbale in the software tend to perform poorly.
