BHW marketplace 2.0 - thoughts.

Perhaps instead of having the buyers pay 20-30% more, increase the price for BST to be Created. maybe $30 to $75-$100.

And have more "under-cover" mods review periodically the BST.

Usually, people contact through Skype/ Telegram because the chat system on BHW is not very helpful for fast communication.

The solution to this? Implement a Chat system on BHW which shows users online/offline and Instant chat...

Every BST should have a Star rating/Review Section with Verified Purchases. These verified purchases will be handled directly through BHW Chat and money doesn't have to be sent through BHW.

Well said!

When you says "AirBnB/Fiverr model", do you mean that instead of a fixed fee per year, you would take a percentage of sales on every sale? Follow up to that, if this is the case, will the current Marketplace structure eventually be replaced by this revshare type of concept? While new and innovative, I could see that doing terribly. People complain about PayPal fees constantly as sellers. Skimming even more off the top would exacerbate this quite a bit.

One of the major draws to BHW's marketplace, and the main reason it is so popular (besides the volume of users) is the low entry point. If you could explain more about this new model, and explain why a 30% price increase is necessary, that would provide a lot more insight. Also, would the marketplace reviews be one-liners for public consumption, or be more in-depth, with a visible end product?

Excited to see what the future of the Marketplace brings regardless. Thanks.

Thanks @Sherb as stated in the OP
For clarity:
1. It will be totally optional

We have no intention to make this compulsory for the marketplace, for those buyers that want the added wrap around care and confidence that we'll provide and for the sellers that appreciate the added value that we'll bring to their increase in revenue via added promotion and security it's a win-win scenario. They will also be provided with a back end order management system for all sales made through BHW. For those that don't, it's optional.

Thanks for your comment on the popularity of the marketplace - You will still have the low entry point of $30 per year per thread. It's just another option open to the market.

Re what's included in the service fee - platform, marketing, support, brand etc etc the list goes on (and on on and on) but the point of this thread is to clarify what people want. We get requests from both sides, buyer and seller, here we're opening up that conversation.

Early days and exciting times.

Can't really tell if I think this is a good idea or not. What system will that be? How fast will a seller get his funds? How much you will charge for this on top of the costs of BST? I feel like after the revenue BHW is already generating and after the increased price for new JR VIP there shouldn't be that more rices.

It's an interesting one - We've agreed on a position with Stripe and PayPal, at the moment other providers are being reviewed, any hold will be based on your account reputation with them. Crypto will be done on an escrow style basis where the sign off from the buyer releases the funds.

The price increase in Jr. VIP is only for a new Jr. VIP those with Jr. VIP already are grandfathered in at $97, for those that are not aware Jr. VIP will move to $147 from Q3 of 2019 after 13 years without a price rise.

For clarity this isn't a price rise it's an additional service offering.

Seems an awful lot like you are trying to create a slightly enhanced version of Fiverr, the enhancement being service reviews.

I appreciate that there has been requests for escrow services perviously and complaints about the quality of the services and some mod reviews, but I am not sure that adding such a high percentage to services is the answer.

  • Perhaps consider a two tier system, tier 1 offers the enhanced reviews and escrow, tier 2 is as is, no fees, no extras. This is essentially your proposed initial state, side by side delivery, I am suggesting an option could be to keep this model.

Personally, my preference is that you employ/pay staff to perform full and adhoc reviews, be more engaged with buyers (proactive, not reactive as the current model) and police the BST's. I do not think there should be an additional charge to the seller or buyer for this, it should just be done professionally.

I am still relatively new to being a seller.

But, I think one of the main issues will be the people who come for cheap services. The cheaper the service around here the more sales.

I am not sure if a large number of people could afford a price increase.

Hey for clarity, it's not a price increase it's an additional service offering. The current marketplace will remain.

As a buyer who spends 6 figures per year with marketplace vendors, I see no incentive in paying an additional 20-30% for this new marketplace service. Buyers have all the tools available to do their due diligence on a service before purchasing. If a seller scams them, do a credit card chargeback / PayPal dispute. Only buy services that give you the option of paying with a credit card / PayPal so then you can do the chargeback/dispute. Don't send crypto or pay via some other method if the seller isn't extremely reputable. It's not that hard. I don't see a need to further control this process.

So to reiterate and get some clarifications, future state of costs to BHW to sell services are:
  • Jr. VIP, which will be increasing 50% annually
  • Sales thread cost
  • The BUYER pays an additional 20-30% on top of the service cost, which is pocketed by BHW
  • Whatever the cost of escrow would be

@Diamond Damien Frankly, I was reading this forum as guest , was away for many days. I can say one thing , these horrible thoughts and perceptions are horrifying me. Why to do all this shit?
Instead , why don't we start promoting our pre created shitlist section to keep the buyers and sellers safe.

I am form India here govt. always talk about sex education , why don't BHW start shitlist education thread. Just need to add a Banner on all pages regarding shitlist and done. No raise of 20-30%, no need of increasing anything unless and untill it is hurting profit of the community I love to live for.

Services that were offered by @mikeoff I guess are safe as they already are accepting escrow services, the only thing missed is a complete mod review of the service before approval.

Can you assume what will happen if a mod will be satisfied with the job being a service provider or a person who knows how it works , but not the customer just coz he paid money and he want that back in a month. Here , I am refering about two main marketplace section seo packages and seo linkbuilding. I vote a big NO for atleast these two sections.

How can this be good for sellers and buyers?

First, the JrVIP price is increased from $97 to $147 and the sellers have to pay a fee in the new marketplace for every sale.

Sellers and Buyers will eventually pay more. Am I wrong?

Nice idea - so if money isn't sent through BHW how would you verify the sale?

Could you expand on what you mean by "the chat system on BHW is not very helpful for fast communication. " ? Would be helpful to understand the issues you're facing with the inbox currently.

Re online / offline that can currently be seen by the yellow dot on the top left as you look at the avatar (hover over it) but a filter by "available now" would that be useful?

I would like to believe that the intention is to provide better service. However, from a marketer POV, sellers that are using that service will for the publics eye have a more trustworthy thread therefor forcing others to take that extra service too.

Transactions going through BHW is optional too?

I fully agree.

20-30% is too much
im with if the fees will be lower especially because PP is not supported here and would like to make someone else get the payment for me

I may have missed it, but what additional service is going to be added with the higher price?

Barring , HAF just to JR.VIP you guys already did a great job. Now, what additional services we are going to get for $147 like $50 extra. Many sellers from tier 3 countries can afford this , freelancers and many other. Why not seprate the price from country to country? I am not actually trying to make any difference but yes currency has brought it here.

For the Sale Verification process, an order would be created within the Chat system/Inbox System with the customer. This would include price, payment method, TAT and any other details needed for the order.

BHW would receive these orders in their system and simply archive them when the order is completed, both Seller and Buyer would approve The order and then the seller can give their review, which will be shown on the BST...

What I mean by "the chat system on BHW is not very helpful for fast communication." is that buyers and sellers need an instant flow of messages to appear, I'm sure I'm not the only one that would understand what I mean by "flow"...

The current Inbox system feels more like an Email to the Email system, a chat system would be much more preferred for this instance to keep the conversation ONLY on BHW. Assuring the security for the Seller & Buyer.

The online/offline part is for the chat system, just makes it easier for someone if they want to message you, them knowing you are online and ready to answer their questions about their Thread.

This chat system wouldn't only benefit Marketplace Sellers but would give this forum a more sense of Community. People can choose to appear online/offline/busy/not available etc... Just like Skype...

PS: When I say an order would be created in the Chat/Inbox System, it is merely an invoice or sign of contract that BHW can follow by if there are any issues with the order.

I know I might be going against the majority here but I like the idea - as long as returning customers aren't necessarily pigeonholed into using the service.

The vast majority of my business comes from repeat customers. They understand that I charge a far higher price than most for my services but keep coming back because I work well with their niche/site. I'm completely fine with the first 20-30% coming off of the top on a new customer's purchase, but I usually give returning customers 25% off. If that 20-30% comes off on a second purchase, along with my regular discount, I'm losing half of my revenue before even starting.

In my opinion, it's going to be great for those offering a unique, high priced and powerful service.

Fast, PM via chat is a must needed feature, but will it be perfect for this size of community, you can use personal support via Skype or your website.
