UMH forget to mention that; I have both .net and 2 .com's. I may register new or choose one of them, just wanna be sure what to do.

Hello guys. Me and my partner want to create a new hosting company. We have more than 10+ years experience and we want to make some money from it.

But we stuck at choosing the name. We found awesome (CVVC.net - V's are same) domain name but actually me, can't get serious with "net" domain.

We have some meaningless.com domains too, one of them cvccv.com and other one cvcvcc.com. But i had to say, meaningless doesn't mean just random chars, they are like soski.com or kelock.com kinda domains (dunno these domains, just random).

I need to get your ideas guys, can ".net" domain be a big company or it doesn't matter how big will it be, can we give trust to people and make them remind it? Or is it best to create company with ".com"?

Really need help, much confused.

You should actually register both, but use one for your marketing.....either way, whatever users type still brings them to your service.

As to choosing which to use, sleep over it...maybe you might get some inspiration when you wake up..:):):)

The .com if it's available and you only want to register one.

.net was originally more of a techie TLD and I suppose it still is in some circles.

.com is the standard in most instances when it comes to domains.

I have all three (.org as well) for different niches and never thought either one was better or worse than the other in a long term situation.

They're just random names, no niches. So it looks like everyone suggest ".com" instead of ".net".

NVM but i will add one more hint, those V's are A, so my net domain is C "aa" C .net

Still not sure, i bought that .net for 50 bucks :D

Still need your thoughts.

If you're going for marketability it's .com 100%. Afterall, it wasn't the ".net" boom, right?

There will always be an added respect to a .com domain name.

It doesn't matter your TLD as long as you provide high quality services.
If i were you i would chose .com/.org/.net in this particular order.

.com is the most well known, obviously. It has been around since the beginning. Getting that may would be worthwhile for any company.

No, worse than that thus v's are a, so caac.net (c's are different).

If you got money, go with .io , best extension for brands.

Interesting, why are you guys suggest me .io?

How is that trustable + good for company, i never thought that io is a good one.

Well there's a lot of popular brands with .io domain so that's probably why they're suggesting it to you.

But what I can say is, If you have money then get all domains. You can use the other domain for marketing or use it as a server name.

Example: if I have hostingdomain.com and hostingdomain.net, I would use the .net for the nameservers and the .com for the front website.

The most important thing for me is choosing a domain name is that you can brand it to get #1 search.
How many times do you actually type a full domain name these days?
Via autocorrect or Google is the way.

.com for your brand i.e the hosting company use the .net for nameservers, mail server or other server-side / management requirement so you keep the brand domain clean...
