Question about backlinks

I just bought an expired domain. There are a lot of backlinks but they mostly link to subdomains, like www.site.com. I want to make my site site.com without the www's, will the authority transfer? Or should I just start the site with www?

Don't make a big deal out of this. Yes, you can do 301 redirect, but not all the link juice will come out there.

Just stick with the www version is my suggestion.

Ok so from this I basically took that I can make my new domain have no WWW and still get all the authority transferred, I just need to 301 redirect subdomains.

Almost all of the authority. Its always better to stick to the original URL tho, not a big difference, but still.

Well, it's only up to you. If I would be in your case, I will choose the strongest one, in this case - the www one. But, if you want to invest money, work and time and make the non-www version stronger enough, it's your choice.

Well the domain I got actually had like 10 different subdomains all with various levels of authority. The WWW was only like the second highest, but the highest one wouldnt be usable for my niche. So I will just redirect all of them to the non www domain.
