Judging by the link profile it seems most of the links are from low authority sites and majority are from the same sites.

They are only ranking for 22 keywords. I would look for more keywords related to the industry, rank for them then go for high authority back links from publications in the industrial area.

They've also got a decent back link from Aylesbury FC.

BTW i do agree with everyone in the sense that you should not really post some one else's URL.

Considering you work for an SEO agency though, one would assume that you would know how to outrank them ?

As i see that domain has 19 years, so that's one of ranking factor and looking at it backlinks they have 41543 backlinks and moz authority 35, their social exposure is not bad.
They using crazyegg and yoast seo pro for content and page optimization. and really fast loading servers 0,3-0.5s so that can increase ranking. also was notice some really great backlinks from authority websites for their niche (cnc), as jamie3000 said hiden pbn, i think that... among the rest was also boosting their ranking really high.

For all the rest of people he is asked for our opinion, so if you not want to help him, not sure why commenting negative stuff.

Their website has a DA of 35 - pretty high of a business website selling industrial products for one particular country. So they must have large backlink profile.

There may be many factors for your competitor ranking as ranking depends on many factors. They have a good website with a limited page and their website running time is also good.

I didn't check their links, As you saying they must have paid for the link so obviously they would have higher quality links & higher quality links with good content plus website structure work well.
