Yeah, I agree, and good luck to you. I'm not a real web designer or marketer, though. What types of sites are you selling?
I sell eCommerce dropship websites. I know it might be dumb for me to create competition for myself, but you're from BHW so here's a quick strategy that you can try.
1. Set up a Wordpress site and install woocommerce.
2. Download and install the free dropship.me plugin and import 50 popular products into your store. Shopify has a similar app called Oberlo and many people that use Shopify also uses the Oberlo app. You can find successful stores that uses that app here
https://exchangemarketplace.com/categories/oberlo-stores-for-sale . Find a good niche and import similar products in your store.
3. Design your site. It doesn't have to be an award winning design. You can use a theme like Flatsome that already have built in store templates. You can import a template, change the images and text. Add a contact us page, terms and conditions, privacy policy, and a page about returns. Very easy and basic.
4. Create a simple logo using a site like thenounproject.com and photoshop.
5. If you havent done this already, add an SSL certificate to the site. Most hosting companies offer this for free now.
When you're done you'll have a site with some real potential of being successful, since it's based on another website that's already successful. Make 2 of these sites a week using a different niche for each site. In 5 weeks you'll have 10 sites in different niches all based on other successful sites. If you picked a good niche and have a design that don't look too bad, then you can probably make about $200 - $300 for that site. If you sell a site for $300, you'll make about $185 in pure profit after domain cost and Flippa/Paypal fees. Plus you'll make your $65 listing fee and $10 domain fee back. So you'll gross $260 from each site @ $300 a site.
Other tips
-------------
When designing your sites use stock photos that look great on all screen sizes. For your main header image uses a photo that's at least 1920 px in width. I see too many sites with blurry images and blurry logos. This can kill your design and make your site look unprofessional. Good images can make your site pop even if you're not a professional designer. stock.adobe.com offer a free 30 day trial.
When listing your site on Flippa, set your auction to run for no more than 7 days. Any longer then that is just a waste of time. Flippa will bury your site in the back and nobody will see it. 5 day auctions that starts on a business day(Mon - Fri) and ends on a business day(Mon - Thurs) works best for me.
Start running ads on your site and see if you can generate some sales within a few weeks or maybe even a few days. This can take you from making $200 - $300 a site to $2000 - $3000 a site. This seller have Bing and Adwords coupons you can use for testing purposes

The rest is about setting up a shopify store and you don't really need that if you're using Wordpress. I taught my friend this and she made about $500 in a few weeks from her first business that sold women hair products. I sold it on Flippa a few months later for a lot more.
It takes work but the money is still there. You just got to take action!
