Hey Chaddo,

A few questions for ya:

1.) To do this at scale, how would you recommend us getting around the postcard / pin verification problem if we want to scale?

2.) Also how long does it realistically take for a maps listing to hit the 1st rank once the listing goes live?

1) The ways to get around it that I could post publicly are mainly to beg/borrow/buy an address to receive the postcard. There are many ways to do this that we discuss in my Chad Kimball Elite Maps Coaching program... also there are many ways we dont teach that involve hacks/loopholes in the GMB dashboard.

2) It can hit the first page within a day or two if the competition is low. HIgher competition requires a bit of work but it is much easier than traditional SEO.

my business wasnt validated.

1. Create an address on google - i used a farm house that was going to be made into units.

2. the postcard will be sent but you wont be able to pick it up because you arent there.

3. wait a few weeks

4. see business listing on google and then you'll able to claim it-it's yours

Just to say I bought Chad's first maps cash course in 08 (Ithink, maybe 09) and not only is Chad legit, I made a lot of cash from his map methods. There's a million so called gurus out there, but Chad is the real deal. If you buy his course and don't procrastinate, you WILL make some serious money. Good to see you still going strong Chad.

James :)

Glad to have you in here @ChadTKimball !

Thanks for doing this- I have a few questions.

What are some strategies that can be used for competitive niches?

What can be done after building out all the citations, doing on-site, and building links, but still not ranking in 3 pack?

How important are local links? What can be done to score more? Would you recommend creating localized web 2.0 networks?

The strategies are the same for competitive niches. Either get more listings up or dig deep and pile on the authority for a few listings.

If you're still not ranking, it is almost always a match and beat game. Get the data on the top 3 competitors. Beat all of them in links, pages of content, citations, and reviews. And you'll almost always outrank them. Local is not as hard as national SEO.

Local links help it. Anthing that tells google this is a local focused site.

@ChadTKimball Any ways to rank my JustEat & YoYo rankings?

more detail please

Have you had any experience with foreign market? Looking to develop so rank & rent business here in France. Any advices? Courses?

Should be easier than USA, less knowledgeable competition. Be aware of licensing requirements for advertising if the country has a high degree of govt control over the market.

What if there is no website?

Thanks for the precious tips.

According to you, how hard is it to rank a business without displaying the address? Because you would need that for citation - or how do you proceed in order to rank such a listing?

if all your competitors have one, you'll need to get one

I could post a couple of screenshots and prove you wrong on that one, but that's not my question.

What if my competitors don't have a website and i don't as well, how do i rank? Just title and description to match the search?

sure there are exceptions and loopholes. I"m talking about best practices and I dont want to out my own loopholes LOL

in the case of above, you rank with title/desc, citations, proximity, and reviews

Hey @ChadTKimball ive got somes questions for you. My friend who provide a service in the construction niche need a website so he ask me to help him with that.
He provide different services *repair interior of the house *repair the roof etc that i am not able to translate all in english, my main language is french...
He dosent have a location where customer go to meet him, he will deserve different zone with his employees.
I look at the competition, do keywords research etc. There is some competition but many of them dosent have claim there business in google maps, dosent have https, etc.
I also look at there backlinks and im pretty much sure we can do better.

Now my quesion is, without a base adress, are we able to rank in the city near to us. Local SEO is kind a new for me and ive seen many site having in the bottom of there home page *service name* city | city | city etc etc is this what we have to do or not.
Can you recommend me any theme that you like to work with. I have generatedpress in mind because the theme is very responsive, can i use it for his site?

Just use his home address if it is in that location, or if thats not where he lives, get a temp box to receive the postcard somewhere then cancel.
Sounds like you have some good potential if the competition doesn't know what they're doing in google maps.

i can get 2-3 differents mail box in city near, should i? i wont use address but the zone.
