60.00 a day goal

Hello everyone my Name is Chris. Besides me sleeps my pregnant girlfriend Beth. (Yes we plan to marry). It is Saturday here in Florida. Rent is paid. I lost my job this week. Friday was my last day. March comes quick and the baby will be coming. My goals are not much. Maintain 60 a day to pay rent. (I have one week to come up with 280) I made about roughly 100 a day at work.

A little about myself. I am a thinker. She is a writer. She is not scared to write but to do so without money and make the cash fast is a struggle. The way she writes I would assume .03 to .05 a word would due. I am positive between us both we can manage 10k words a day. That would far surpass our goal. Me doing the rough her editing and polishing.

I know I know what you are thinking 280 a week that is a lot but not for everything included around here even internet and no first last AND security to pay. Not justifying but we live in a very expensive area with no way to move right now. Hopefully before the baby comes though.

Now BHW this is NOT I repeat NOT a sales thread at ALL I am just wanting advice about the best fastest place to get clients and paid with no investment until we can afford to invest in sales threads. Hopefully someplace where there are more clients than writers where people will be banging down our door for us to write. Any ideas? Please Help!

First of all welcome to BHW.

If this is a representation of your content quality then you are over pricing yourself at .03 - .05 per word. I would not pay that and I am involved in checking to see what people offer and what they charge on this site on a regular basis. Granted, you do not have the opportunity at this stage in your BHW journey to sell but as a benchmark I don't see that $ volume there.

As to where you can offer your services I would be hitting your local craigslist gigs where people are looking to hire (I know about where you are and that is a fairly busy CL area) and you'll pick up some work.

I don't know that you can go from zero to 280.00 a week all that fast doing that but it would be where I would start.

Also, I know on FB there are some pretty busy groups offering jobs and you can probably pick something up to tide you over until you get your writing business enough traction to support your GF, your child and yourself.

You can find those by typing in the FB search bar, Jobs in <enter your city>. Be sure to type in jobs in <that giant city just to the east of you> as that is were you'll find a bunch of opportunities.

Hello Chris! Welcome, Sad to hear that you lost your job. And congratulations on your baby!

I would recommend you take a look at something like Upwork or Fiverr.

Those are good places to start, but there is a bunch of places that you can list your skills for different freelancer projects.

You might even be able to find jobs on different local sites (craigslist?)

If they even think for a second you are competition they will massively flag your ad. I guess this is why you say to go under the looking to hire. Most will not hire me as neither her nor I have any papers. I have an ID which is about it. Which is why I was looking at other venues like writing as I do have a PP Debit card which would allow me to pay everything.

However in all honesty even if we could get volume of 10k words even a penny a word would be feasible. At least until we could build up her brand and clientele. I have looked and tried fiverr however the problem there is that it is so competitive with writers. Most forums even BHW would charge.

Don't forget reddit. I know lot of you guys dont like to use it but there's lots of offers going on daily basis.

For Hire / Beermoney subreddits and so on.. in your situation it would definitely help out a lot.

Welcome to BHW! If that's your situation, I'd consider any job ASAP. I know it's not attractive, but go out there and do whatever it takes, clean, serve, run errands, whatever. Your GF may be the best writer in the world, but it'll take a while until she gets clients and time is ticking(congrats on the baby btw). Believe me, it's much easier to write and think of good ideas for new ventures when there's no noose around your neck. Start keeping track of your household finances and start saving up. A new part of your life is coming and you need to take responsibility for it.

Knowing that type of work you are looking at about 4 - 5 hours of your time + you'll need to drive some but certainly can be done in 4 - 5 hours.

No experience is necessary for that and get in with that guys' friends and you'll have more work than you can handle.

On FB in one of the jobs groups in your area there is a position just south of you looking to hire and it looks like another no experience required job.

I don't follow that market much any more but I always used to see a company where the water is clear always hiring and I remember the pay was not bad and the position was also no experience required.

Putting all your eggs in the writing basked when you have a little one on the way is walking on ice that is pretty thin and no matter what I weighed I would not be doing that as my sole source of income.

She has Wic and fighting Snap as they tell her she was lifetime sanctioned due to something in her youth. My day job was in Warehouse. Forklift/Shipping/Receiving. I was a good worker and the loved how much effort I put into my job. However things happen. Not on my end.

From what I understand you are a writer and there is always demand for writers. but what type of writer you are?
Amazon Affiliate writer?
Clickbank writer?
Etsy Writer?
Have a target - it will keep you focused. AMZ,CB,OR ETSY? research for a an FB group with your desired audience. OFFER your services for free in exchange for a comment with a review regarding your services -- prove them that you come into work and you know what you are doing. you will earn the right to charge XYZ$ amount of money. I don't want to tell you what you should do with your startup cash you should know it yourself
