I need an own wikipedia article of me to increase my reputation. I don't have any good sources currently, except a Twitter account with 10k follwers, which I think won't help much. My Questions.

  1. Is it very difficult to do?
  2. What do I need?
  3. Can I do it on my own or am I blocked from creating an article about me.

Hey JackTheBlack. This is actually an interesting question. After all, Wikipedia is a fully editable resource, so why wouldn't you be able to write an article about yourself?

Sadly, I'm going to have to be the bearer of bad news. According to the Wikipedia rules, creating autobiographical articles is strongly discouraged. Wikipedia wants articles that are verifiable, neutral, and have no original research. I think writing a page about yourself would break at least two of those rules. They might just delete whatever you end up posting.

However, if you really want to do it, I do have a couple of suggestions.

1. Compile media coverage of you and/or your brand, if any exists.
2. Write from a neutral point of view, not as self-promotion.
3. Become "notable" according to Wikipedia's definition of the word.

As for your third question, I do think that it would be better to have someone else write and post the actual article. Good luck!

@Writerly

Thanks for your response. Your seconds point is easy to come by. But becoming notable in the eyes of wikipedia is a bit difficult in my opinion.
Cause I am surely not that noteable.

Yet I am interested if there are methods to pretend being important, in order to increase the chance of my article to get accepted.

Maybe you could try inspiring some media coverage of you and your brand. Have you checked out Wikipedia's list of criteria for determining Notability? It narrows it down to academics, creatives, criminals, entertainers, military personnel, political figures, athletes, etc. Even Grumpy Cat has a Wiki page. If you already have so many Twitter followers, you could start putting out content, and work your way into notability? I'm just throwing out suggestions at this point, never having tried to make an autobiographical Wikipedia page.

Check BHW marketplace, there is few sellers which know how to solve that problem with PRs something, its not that hard to get a page on wikipedia. The only issue you can face is budget for the project, if that not an issue for you, you are good to go.

Unless you're a "relevant personality" (according to their own discretion) they will remove the article fairly quickly.

So, any success at the final?
Was looking also with the same goal, but my wiki-article has been declined :)

I was able to get a page for a couple months but got removed. I invested about $300 to get some media/PR coverage to use as sources then got the page made by someone who had experience is getting pages posted on wiki. Like someone mentioned above, you got to have a decent history/personality to have a wiki page. I guess if you have sources that are old and high quality you could potentially get the page to stick. Good luck.

If your looking for a cheap test option, there are always sellers on fiverr as well

They can remove your page easily, but can don't remove
Depend on luck, or smth else
Saw few pages about internet "celebrities" that were not deleted
