Windows explorer crashed. Help?

Config: 8 gb ram, 4 gb nvidia, i7 3rd, 256 gb ssd. Laptop is running win 7.

OS is installed in SSD.

That happens around 4-5 times per day and it gets super laggy and I had to struggle to move the cursor and click "Restart" and then it becomes okay.

How to fix?

Well mostly it is a broken os, try to download a proper fixed os , the one you may have probably it is corrupted

Been using it for years no viruses or anything its the free version all versions in 1 cd , scan it if you want dont really care , the point is you have a corrupted os . install a new one , update drivers and for god sake if you dont need the updates do not do it. for me its way faster without the updates then with them, ( i install updates my pc goes slow and shity ) no updates works fine.

Also i would advice you to go with windows 10 with those specs , your pc can handle it preety well , or better yet go with linux <( if your programs have compability with linux )

i mean windows 8.1 in terms of specs it requires less then windows 10 , also regarding the privacy and other things , but i mean your pc can handle windows 10 and 8.1 its up to you now , if it was up to me to chose i would chose windows 8.1 hell no i dont want to deal all day long configuring the pricacy settings and trying to shut down the updates the forced ones . but yeah also with windows 7 you will be ok , just make sure to download a correct iso not a corrupted on and you wont have crashes and other things .

Yes privacy is the reason that I came back to win 10. Also a couple of days ago an article came out that despite turning win 10 privacy on, it was still sending data to MS.

Do you know a COMPLETE way to control privacy and prevent telemetry in win 10? Please dont tell not to use internet lol.

Well there are a lot of ways to do it most of them involve you to mess with windows registry and services , it is a hustle on time but the problem with messing with registry and services is that if you do something wrong you can end up crashing the whole system mostly it happens from time to time , i would just advise to go with windows 8.1 if you dont want to deal with a lot of privacy issues or even windows 7 works fine ( i mean its supported till 2020 ) depending on the apps you use. for me i ditched windows for linux and i cannot feel better im at control of my pc can modify what i want and when i want.

also another problem is that its called Windows and they send data to Windows ( so they can do that since you are using their program. you have a lot of ways to turn it off but just an update will roll everything back they can do that with a simple update )

yeap thats why i am saying either stick with windows 8.1 or windows 7 or linux if you know how to use the programs there , just dont use linux if you plan to use software with wine , dont work quite well

How about setting up your router so that it blocks those servers? You can probably find out the servers if you listen via wireshark or something similar.

What are those server ips? Do you have the list of ips?

Nopes. I use the original win 10 and I am least bothered about windows stealing my privacy so I don't care lol. If you use wireshark (or fiddler, just start the proxy server and configure that proxy system-wide), you can probably find out all the ips.

Thanks for the link. And you are perfectly fine with MS hogging up your privacy? Dont say I should turn off internet to prevent privacy lol.
 
i use windows 7 ultimate never had a issue , i make sure it got sevice pack 1 and just turn all updates off .

solid os.

i always run avast and ccleaner before use and afther use .

i tryed windows 8.1 hated it.
i also tryed windows 10 hated it .

windows is giving up on os anyway so
everyone awaiting of a new os .

who ever invents it.

It depends on what kind of data one has. Except for my company data which are sensitive, I don't store anything on my main laptop that I consider hiding from everyone.. With that, I don't believe microsoft will ever be interested in those kinds of data anyway.. I mean cmon.. Microsoft is a very big company and one of the oldest IT companies. Why would they destroy their reputation like this? All they must be collecting are usage info like exceptions etc. Any data sent to them can be traced/audited if necessary.

Still, if you feel paranoid, may be you should use Linux for the sensitive data. Have a dual boot system each having their own boot password (not exactly sure if you can do this with windows though).
