Hi there.

Correct me if I am wrong, but we can get a D0-F0LL0W backlink from Medium.com if we put it in our profile bio.

Your steps would be:
1) Register
2) Complete your registration providing some topics of your interest (medium will guide you through it)
3) Once registered, click on your profile image in the upper right corner and click on "Profile" link
4) Click on "Edit profile"
5) Provide desired text and put your link there in the "Enter a short bio" textbox
6) Click on "Save"

Done.

Why Not Submit An Article It Gives Good Number Of Visits.

Article links are no-follow. There are already threads in this forum regarding this.
So I've just checked if you can get a do-follow from Medium and this was the first thing I've found.

oh i didn't notice that yes a good link from such a good website.

I'll take a no follow link from a decent article on Medium any day... you still get some recognition from Google and if the article is decent it will get read and you have a chance of targeted traffic from your link.

A little tip for you folks as to using medium. It is a respected site as most of us know, just as wikipedia is, and people have no clue that it gets gamed for links and traffic.

Write, or have written a nice article with your link in it, and share that in as many places as you can that are relevant without coming off as spam.

You'll get recognition from those with whom you share it as someone who offers value in those arenas and you will also get traffic to your site from those that read the article.

Completely agree.

I just thought that probably everyone who is familiar with Medium would know that they could always get a no-follow in a story (article). And it's up to the person what he could do with this backlink.
Also searched through BHW if we can make a D0-F0LL0W on Medium and didn't find anything.
So made a little research by myself and wanted to share it with people here.

In conclusion, both links are great.

In terms of difficulty, I think it's quite easier to get this D0-F0LL0W than to get no-follow from a nice article shared in much places wisely.

Thanks

You guys can have it both ways. a do follow link on the profile page and a link for traffic on an article. Whats stopping ya?

That's what we think as well.

I couldn't agree more. Personally I think it's important to have a healthy mix of DF and NF links since it'll appear more natural.

I've used Medium before to great success in driving traffic to my site. Essentially I treated it as a money page by putting grade A content on it and slowly building links to it.

Whilst strictly speaking it wasn't passing link juice, the fact that it's sending a large number of people to my site and they're staying on it for a considerable period of time means that it should be considered as "authoritative" by Google.

Hey BassTrackerBoats, so if I make a post on Medium and post the exact same thing on my blog, do I get penalized by google?

If we can't post similar things on medium and our sites, is there any easy way to create content for Medium that links back to our site? Thank you.

That dup.

Articles / content can only be placed once on any platform/website.

The articles on youtube are re usable anywere as there used but not publised .

You can use expired articles .

Can use wayback or a app and online services to get them.

Medium has an import article feature: it let you import articles from your WordPress site with a meta tag canonical so no problem if an article on Medium look same with the one on your money site.

Reviving an old thread, but.. I just checked, it appends rel="noopener nofollow" automatically. So, just nofollows from Medium, which is better to get within an article, IMO. You might get some visitors and make yourself known to the public, even if it's not so good for SEO.
