I get a red x with circle after a DM sent message?

it doesnt look like it failed to send and I cant seem to find the answer on the internet. Just wondering if anyone knew what the answer to this question is?

Whenever I send a message on instagram a red x with a circle appears next to my message.

UPDATE: It looks like it is failing to send, I just created this profile, is facebook already marking it as spam?

It happens if you send too many dm's in a short period of time. You won't be able to send dm's for 1-24 hours, depending on the age of your account.

Ya, search around on BHW as there are various great sources, but I don't send more than 10 DMs an hr, just not worth the risk. And I spintext them.

Yes, try to send messages like every two minutes instead of sending like ten in one minute.

This is an older thread but I just ran into this for different reasons from the above...there was a recent update to Instagram messaging that apparently doesn't want you to include links any more of any kind...even <sitename> dot com (but actually typing those as normal). I just tried to send a DM with a link as I have before many times and I got the x with a circle.
