Made $30 on two articles today

@ josh - No need to PM me the question and then post the same question in the thread mate. In the future, please post all questions here so that I can answer them one time for everyone instead of for each person individually. (unless protecting the content in my book)

Like I said in the PM, I wouldn't go that route. It makes it all too easy for AC's reviewers to make a connection between your accounts and lay down the banhammer.

@ yuuchi - It does take some patience to get the writers hired, but personally, I didn't find it too much of a pain at all. Congrats on getting everything accepted so far, keep in mind that offers in that range are solid starting points. The longer you've been submitting, the higher your offers will get. I'm not sure if you have the book, but if you do, go back and re-read it to clarify how to raise your upfront payments and how to link your Paypal and AC accounts. If not, go back and read the things we've already talked about in this thread mate which will also shed some light on it. Both questions have already been answered in length.

Regards,

Redtide

In the end, you have to link an active Pay*Pal email address to the account.

There is no way around that.

@ dustydharma - Once you get to the point that you've used up all of the 16 available PP email addresses (with attached AC accounts), you have to sacrifice one that's just collecting page views so that you have another available slot for collecting upfronts. When you do this, you'll want to sacrifice the lowest performing AC account as far as total page views. Then keep repeating this cycle as you need more available slots for upfront payments.

hey red,

did pp always allow 16 emails? thought it was 4.

anything im missing?

thanks

I just talked to a guy that told me you're only suppose to use one keyword per article, is that true? I was under the assumtion you should use 2-5...
For example, If I had an article like

"JW Marriott Hotel Las Vegas Resort: Review"
I would use keywords like JW Marriott, Las Vegas, Nevada, Hotel, Review

am I doing this wrong?

Okay I was just told one or two keywords.. no more than that.. but.. I?m a little confused..because I was under the assumption that you use the keywords for search engines but also to keep the content unique.. but how am I suppose to do that if the words that make the title unique aren?t being used as keywords?
for example, I was giving my writers 4-5 keywords to use.. some of the keywords I gave them weren?t even for seo purposes but rather for making sure they keep the article unique .. for example ..
if the title was ?3 Reasons Why the Samsung 52 LCD is the Perfect TV For Video Gaming?
the keywords I would choose were ?Samsung 52, LCD, TV, Video Gaming?
because in my eyes if I didn?t put video gaming as a keyword then the writer wouldn?t use them words and I would lose the uniqueness?
make any sense?
Like he would change the article to just ?Samsung LCD is the Perfect TV? because I told him to use the keywords in the title?and seeing as how video gaming isn?t on the list of keywords he wouldn?t include it in the title.. ultimately taking away the uniqueness

Could you send me sample article. I'm beginner at article writing and eny help would be more than welcome.

im confused ,can we really create 16 pp address,i heard that the maximum is 2 one personal one for business, please help me out in this as i don't know what to do

im not sure about that focusing on two much keyword is not always good ,for my article i always focus on two main keyword ,plus focuding on keywords which are broad i think its a bad idea

When starting out, how many articles can you post on one acct? I read this thread earlier and some say no more than ten. Others say no more than 5 starting out, then work yourself up to 10 per acct. Im confused:confused:

Nevermind I saw redtide answered my question, yesterday.

Well let me first say THANK YOU to RedTide for being an awesome motivator on this thread and through out the whole AC experience I've had. I have yet to buy your e-book but like promised in a private message I will be getting it from you once the time was right.

I just spent 15 days in the hospital due to chrohn's disease. Totally sucked! My fulltime job as a web manager for a local Recycling Company was terminated due to being "Absent" for too long. Complete and utter crap that would take an employee like me who built there company from scratch with them, helped make it successful, and then terminate for being sick and hospitalized for half a month.

Well trust me, more of the company was in my name than there's on certain things they "thought" they owned. Such things as a few blogs and about 70% of there traffic sources were do to SEO methods on sites in my name :D I covered my tracks and gave them a swift kick of Karma for doing me dirty like they did. Plus I made them buy a few domains from me I registered at very high prices. Im a great honest guy but I always had a bad feeling about there business integrity so I backed myself up for an emergency.

Well that aside now, to the point. My hospital room had WIFI acess and I had my laptop so I went ahead and tweaked out my AC methods even more than I had before. Wrote articles by hand myself, at 10 a day as did my fiance. It really didn't take too long. Thanks to RedTide's motivation and giving me the push I needed and congrats on having the right attitude weeks ago when I posted how my journey was going from the start. I'm doing great.

I'm at a clout level of 5 in less than a month, as is my Fiance. Her FIRST upfront offer was for $4 and has been getting consistent $3.50-$4.00 offers. My initial offers started at $2.75 and now they stay in the $3.10-$4.00 range. Even though I lost my job I was able to pay my rent on my house, my bills, etc. ALL FROM AC.

If I ahve anything to say it's listen to RedTide and treat it like a business that your serious about. I take notes ALL day about my writing styles, linking, keywords etc. All day me and my fiance carry around PDA's or a notepad in our back pockets and write down ideas that come to us. Anything can turn into an idea during the day and 90% of the time you will forget them if you don't write them down right away.

I have sticky notes all over my desk, monitor, etc in my office that are either idea's, up coming plans, schedules, writing style ideas, etc. We record how well each thing does with different approaches to promotion and writing and it's really helped us get a great feel of AC and what they want. Warning they do change up though, something could be doing AWESOME for 2 weeks than all the sudden they get declined.

I can say with my work method though in maybe 2 months I believe I've had 4 declined articles between the two of us. I don't out source or anything. It's just em and my Fiance cranking out 20 articles a day between us.

We treat Monday to Friday like work. Wake up ay 7am, have breakfast and talk strategy for the day. Hit the office at home by 8am. Workf or 2 hours completing and submitting at least 3 articles. Take a break. Come back and complete another 3 each. Take lunch together. Come back do another 2 articles. Take a break. Then come back and do the final 2 articles for the day. That's 10 from each of us.

When this is done we generally set one hour aside for article promotion. This is a crucial thing people miss and WILL make you good income right away and residual good income in the long run. I'll tell you from experience the higher your clout level the better your upfronts. So promoting articles is crucial! SEO then great when youw rite them but also promote them. I'm not going to talk about my exact methods but I can get most articles that are worthwhile 400+ plus hits atleast in 48 hours. Dedicated to just 1 hour a day between two people.

We use the last half the day to lazily scrape content, write down ideas, read magazines for article ideas, and also allocate it to our own side porjects together. Blogs, CPA's, Adsense, Mailing, etc. Trying to build a good stream of multiple income sources from the internet. Never want it all in one basket.

Also we religously take our declined articles, submit them for performance on AC. Then promote them and it helps a lot even without the upfronts. So don't be shy to submit declines for performance, keeping the rights for them and submitting them elseway for upfront pay.

Treat AC like a business, be serious, and grind hard like it IS your business and you can get paid well. I can say honestly I made well over my monthly rent on my house, cell phone bills, car insurance, and utilities plus food to eat. I got fired from my job for being sick and in the hospital for 15 days, and AC gave me what I needed to still get by.

Anyone who doesn't think AC will work or pay that great just isn't treating it right. If I upscaled and outsourced with the knowledge I've already learned I'd be making a killing. I'm comfortable where i'm at currently though and i'm not breaking a single AC TOS I seriously write 95% of my articles original, no rewrites. It's very occasional I do a Re-write.

THANK YOU REDTIDE! This is the best i've done online since about 2002 when I could spam like crazy.

I thought it's against the law to fire someone for absense due to illness if the person has used the proper FMLA process. Sorry to hear about that.

Thanks for motivating me, I have slacked off a little. Something I have to work on is discipline. Im thinking of treating AC like a job as you and your wife did. Im going to make a work shedule, dress business casual, and maybe make myself a work badge(lol). Glad you and your family are ok. Its good to read about people doing well with AC.

Well let me first say THANK YOU to RedTide for being an awesome motivator on this thread and through out the whole AC experience I've had. I have yet to buy your e-book but like promised in a private message I will be getting it from you once the time was right.

...

Very motivating story. AC is an income stream I'd never considered before but now I'm thinking about giving it a try. As my father used to say, the only way you can make sure you're valued at work is to work for yourself. Everyday, I realize a little more how right he was.

Wow, the thread has been pretty active since I logged off lastnight. I want to start off by thanking JonWrong for his awesome post. Jon, I wanted to give you a big thumbs up right from the start. It goes to show that I wasn't blowing smoke when I've talked about the importance of treating AC like a business and going in with a business mindset. Needless to say you have a winners mindset. :biggthump

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay and what happened with your job. That frikkin sucks man, what a slap in the face that they wouldn't see you through being down and hospitalized. At least you came prepared to make some money with the laptop :headbang:

Listening to your description of how you do things is exactly how my days are lol, Post It's flying and stuck all over the place, throwing articles from one folder to the next, I have a set routine that I follow that if I wasn't disciplined about, I probably wouldn't make a dime ;) When I read your descriptions it feels like me talking to myself lol.

It's really interesting how things come full circle. You're praising me for feeding you motivation from the info in this thread, and yet this post of yours is feeding me the motivation to keep helping everyone new to this thread and to AC. I think what you and your fiance are doing and the strategies you two have built are just awesome. Needless to say, you are a self starter and are bound to succeed in everything you set your mind to. It's a given, and I give you a +rep and for that mindset man. Give a big congratulations to your fiance for me too if you would as well.

Comments like this: "THANK YOU REDTIDE! This is the best i've done online since about 2002" are all the thanks I could ever need my friend.

Again, congrats Jon ;)

Ok, I also want to address something to EVERYONE, because this is something I've already talked about a number of times and it keeps going unnoticed because a lot of people aren't reading this thread before posting. These things I'm going to address bother me to the point that I'm thinking about abandoning this thread if need be, so if you appreciate the ongoing support I've been giving you guys PLEASE listen.

First, this thread is becoming one of the longest, heavily viewed and heavily replied to threads at BHW. There are obviously good things about that, but more importantly BAD things about it. The longer any thread gets, the harder it is for people to find the important information contained within it. This makes it hard for EVERYONE to find the information they need which in turn means that I have to answer the same questions over and over, and to be honest, I'm getting tired.

I want to help you guys and I enjoy doing it, but I can't continue to answer the same questions time and time again. I just don't have time for it. ALSO, this fills the thread with the same questions all of the time, "waters it down", and makes it MUCH LESS valueable for people looking for new information.

I also go back in the thread myself all the time looking for things we've already talked about in order to help you guys through support, coaching etc by copy/pasting the info (again, I hate to type with a passion) so I know myself that its a pain in the ass trying to find certain things, but it's what needs to be done by many of you. The things I'm going to list below are what's making it hard for ALL OF US to find the things we need.

So, please help me/us out here...

**** If you're a newbie and haven't taken the time to actually read this and other threads in the AC subforum, (WHICH SHOULD BE EVERYONE'S STARTING POINT WITH AC) please use the search button before posting. It is general ettiquite at ANY forum to do so. Most other threads at BHW will have people 100% flamed for this, I personally try not to disrespect people in this thread because I realize new members simply don't know any better. I try to give everyone equal respect, but things are getting out of control here lately and have to be verbalized.

**** There's also a "search this thread" feature at the top of every page, please use it. If you don't get a response to a question you ask, it's because other AC users and myself aren't even responding because we know it's already been answered a million times. lol this is your indication to use the search features and/or go back and do some scanning/reading of this thread.

**** There is such thing as an EDIT button at the bottom of every post we make. If you've made a post and then think of another question or response to add within 24 hours of making that first post, PLEASE DO NOT add another post or posts for each new question. Go back and hit the edit button and add your other questions/comments to the original post. When you do this it helps to keep the thread compact so that it doesn't continue growing out of control with it's number of pages.

**** Instead of "quoting" other posts within your own posts, ESPECIALLY really long ones, please just say @redtide or @livinitup etc. The more pages back we have to look through to find things we've already talked about, the harder it is for everyone, which again means I end up having to answer the same questions over and over, further watering down the thread with already discussed information.

**** Please use the THANKS BUTTON instead of saying "hey thanks for the information, I've been looking at getting started here" or "hey, thanks alot, can you send me a sample article?" etc.

Like I said, I am not going to continue taking time out of my busy days (and nights, it's currently 2:45 am here) to keep answering the same questions over and over for some of the people that aren't willing to help themsleves. Whether AC, or anything else online, you HAVE to be able to help yourself and be willing to try things out, read, research, test and tweak etc.

Notice how JonWrong, Millygirl, srb888, Danny Relic, Shikkah, twoJ04 and many others only post up when they really have something important and useful to add, or a viable question? It's because they are busy making money by making things work, testing things out and being self starters. This is what it takes to be successful online people.

Just having to say all of this again has made this thread even longer so I'm done with my rant. Just to clarify, It's not that I don't want you guys posting up, I enjoy helping you, it's just I'd like to see everyone make their input count and do what they can to not bloat this thread to where we can't even find anything. It will only benefit all of us.

Ok...

@ fcdude - You're welcome man, Pay*pal allows you 2 accounts with 8 emails attached to each account.

@ AnthraxX - You'll notice throughout the book and thread that I will say "keyword/keyword phrase", you want to use 1 keyword or keyword phrase for each article. With AC, a keyword phrase is what's known as a "longtail keyword". Even though it's more than one word, it's still considered 1 keyword. Like "Alienware Ultra Thin Laptop" would be considered 1 keyword or keyword phrase. It's 4 words, but it's still just 1 keyword.

@ Josh - You're welcome, thanks for understanding

@ yuuchi - You're confusing Pay*pal email addresses and Pay*pal accounts. You're allowed 2 Paypal accounts that have 8 email addresses attached to each one (for a total of 16 email addresses, with 1 AC account attached to each email address)

Thanks you guys and have a great rest of the weekend.

Cheers,

Redtide

Sorry Red I didn't realize that you could search the insides of a thread... Thanks for that tip... I actually spent like 20 mins browsing this thread looking for the answer before I posted Lol. So definately appreciate that tip... Unfortunately with the search button I couldn't find the answer to the question I have now.... For some reason, one of my writers work is passing dupefreepro but not passing copyscape.. On dupefreepro it's saying 14% but when I search on copyscape it brings up one result to that same original article.. any suggestions?

Alright i'm going to try and respond to everyone so anyone who replied to me thank you and I'm sure addressed you somewhere in this long post.

I thought it's against the law to fire someone for absense due to illness if the person has used the proper FMLA process. Sorry to hear about that.

In most states it is, Idaho unfortunately is a "Right To Work State" many workers really ahve no rights and they can terminate you for anything. They basically can call it whatever they want to call it on paper, but basically i was told being the hospital was too long of an absence for them to handle without me there. So I'm terminated. I even offered to work from my freaking laptop in my hospital bed! I mean i'm having major surgery, puking blood everywhere, & basically sick as crap with crohns disease. I'm on a Dilaudid PCA pump 24/7 for pain giving me 1mg of Dilaudid every 10 min if I pushed the button. I wasn't just a "little" bit sick in the hospital. This was a hospital stay I couldn't avoid.

I was willing to WORK In this state of my health to make sure my job wasn't left short handed and they still terminated me and payed me for hours I worked while in the hospital. I seriously was so upset, these people "were" my friends. I'm so happy that 70% of what they "thought" they owned was unkowingly to htem actually mine ;) So that's been terminated & the stuff they really wanted was sold back to them at VERY high prices. Karma is amazing at times.

It's a given, and I give you a +rep and for that mindset man. Give a big congratulations to your fiance for me too if you would as well.

Comments like this: "THANK YOU REDTIDE! This is the best i've done online since about 2002" are all the thanks I could ever need my friend.

Again, congrats Jon ;)

notice how JonWrong, Millygirl, srb888, Danny Relic, Shikkah, twoJ04 and many others only post up when they really have something important and useful to add, or a viable question?

Cheers,

Redtide

To you RedTide, it makes me smile that my description sounds like a splitting image of your day and routine. That makes me feel really good about where things are headed. My fiance said a big thank you for the kind words as well. She's never been super computer savvy and she is seriously coming along so far with SEO and things i've been teaching here. I've even got her learning some html & basic graphics design so we can build blog networks together and promote them. I really want to teach her a simple programming language like visual basic because i've been using it for years. But one project at a time.

I took everything you ever wrote on here to heart though and it's held so true. But the one thing I can say to everyone which is true is treat it like a business. I really do have a schedule for the day posted on my wall that we wrote together. I have special daily plans we write out in the morning, and we both carry blackberry's and a pad of paper for ideas and things that come to mind during the day. We both are able to compare eachother's work and see what's paying out and working better for eachother etc. It's great really because we both have such different styles it's cool to see what AC likes the most from each of us.

Thank you for the kind words RedTide and you deserve all the good karma that is coming to you for helping so many people in an honest unbiased fashion. Your book is even advertised better than anyone i've ever seen. Why? Like I said above you never called it "How to get rich quick and make 100's of dollard a day doing nothing but a few simple steps AC guide". You've always called it work, said it takes work, and to treat it like a business or your earnings will be so tiny it won't be worth it & that's the brutal honesty of it.

Thank you for selling your e-book and your help with honesty instead of trying to sell a "Dream" or should we say a "Fantasy" like everyone else online with there money making E-Books.

Please do make yourself a badge and dress business casual if that's what will help you. The more you can treat your time like a job and not a do screwing off at home the better. THat's why I have a dedicated office at home and try to use that for all my work hours. Sure occasionally I'll do work from my laptop on the couch but I find i'm mouch more disciplined as is my fiance when we use my actual home office and shut the door. Make set times for breaks, lunch, and performance expected between each time frame.

THANK YOU for the kind words and my family isn't doing great because it's hard to lose guaranteed money and be sick like I am right now. Plus the way they terminated me was so shady after what I did for them. They got there's though, karma will get you for being a bad person... But I love how Karma picks you up for being a good person. That's why I'm trying to motivate everyone else the best I can and tell my story and what I've had to do to make this work for me personally.

Try to cut the slacking out and really give those ideas a shot. Designate a work area or office. Dress like your going to work, and even make a badge if that helps. Make yourself a desk plaque if you have to.. Psychology is a very powerful tool especially when it comes to motivating you.

I mean I was motivated enough to be fresh out of a bowel resection surgery doped up on Morphine and everything else in the world in my hospital bed and I still had my laptop and was working away figuring "Hey I have 15 days to sit here, I might as well make something out of it" most people would of been sleeping and getting there pain meds. I was trying to build my business a little farther... Motivation man! I know you got it too!

great post jon!

treating ac like a business, thats how it should be. (thanks redtide)

i almost gave up on dragon naturally speaking until i took sometime to learn how to properly use it

Thank you so much for the thanks and acknowledging that my post helped motivate you. It means a great deal to me to know that when I take my time to post something useful that it does actually help people. I can fully understand RedTides feelings, then he reads a post like mine, or anyone elses that is positive towards him or thanking him, and it helps encourage him to keep posting more and helping people.

I feel the same way so I thank you for acknowledging my post and also for giving me thanks. You notice i have a really low post count because unless I really have something usefull, especially to this long thread. I just read.

Keep treating AC like a business and it will treat you well. It truly is like being your own boss of your own company. No one is going to make you work, no one is going to make you successful, no ones going to make money fall in your lap, no ones going to write your business plans or help you with strategy. It's all on YOU. Which can be a good thing or bad thing depending on your attitude and personality type. If your a go getter and a natural self sufficient worker you can rock AC.

Even with a solid plan I just got my first road block with AC. I hadn't had any declines on any of my articles except ONE in 2 months. Then yesterday I got 4 in row declined for "not being unique enough of content, and AC is trying to build a large library of unique content and unfortunately my submission didn't differ enough from submissions they already have" Which was odd because they were from 2 different niches I already did great with for awhile.

I didn't pout and cry about it though, I wrote it down in my book of writing strategies. What's worked and what hasn't. Made a few sticky notes around my desk on what to focus on now and test the waters with some new stuff. I took my declined articles turned them in for performance only and promoted the crap out of them and at least made 2 of them make me $1.50 each already in a few days on just performance. Essentially keeping the rights to the articles and submitting them elsewhere still making money on them.

Don't let anything detour you from your end goal. All business's hit roadblocks. If you want to be successful; try and try again. Fail and pick yourself up and try again. I'm treating AC like I would if it was my own business and it's treating me well back and keeping a roof over my head and the bills paid since I lost my job due to termination from a long hospital stay.

If anyone is really having a tough time with AC i'm proof that it can be very profitable but it will be WORK. A lot more work then any "get rich quick" scheme you find online.

Did you ever notice you've NEVER once seen RedTide advertise his AC book as a get rich quick and easy while being lazy and scratching your balls sitting at your computer desk method. He has always said it is WORK and that's the bottom line. Im putting in about 10 hours a day as is my fiance, 5 days a week. Sometimes weekends as well if the payout and time is worth it.

AC constantly changes what they want as well, so take notes and try to stay with the changes as they evolve you should too! :D

Sorry if i'm rambling I just truly do love you guys here and I feel Karma has blessed me after the recent smack in the face I got being terminated from my job after having been in the hospital for 15 days and having 2 bowel resections.
